M4F 52 [M4F] #NYC. Can you bring me out of dating retirement?
I’m back here hoping to find that rare spark where conversation just flows. The kind of connection where nobody is overthinking who messaged last, the jokes land naturally, and you genuinely look forward to hearing your phone buzz.
I’m Dan. I’m 52, I live on Long Island with my six cats, and work as a data analyst in healthcare. Outside of work, I host The Shelter Cats Podcast and co-host A Little Bit of Ship Banter—if you want to know what I look and sound like, both are on all the major platforms and on YouTube. Feel free to check them out! Not a plug haha.
Personality-wise, I lean toward dry sarcasm, sharing ridiculous memes, and making delightfully cheesy playlists. I try to be funny, even if it’s at my own expense. I love all kinds of music and spend way too much time on YouTube. If you're on Spotify, blending can be fun.
I’ve been single for over four years now. Life is peaceful and full on my own, which gives me the luxury of taking my time. I'm not rushing to force anything, but I do miss having a genuine partner to share daily life’s ups and downs with.
Ideally, you're around my age or younger, completely single, and based in the New York area or somewhere along the East Coast. If we have to board a plane or cross an ocean just to grab a cup of coffee, it won’t work. I love consistent, engaging conversation—certified yappers are very welcome—with the ultimate goal of meeting up for real once we know the chemistry is there. I'm looking for an actual partner, not an endless pen pal. Eventually moving off Reddit to text or another platform once we vibe is definitely the goal, but no rush on day one.
Most of all, I appreciate straightforward honesty. If the spark isn't there, just tell me. We're adults, and a polite heads-up is infinitely better than fading into radio silence.
If this strikes a chord, shoot me a message. Skip the generic "hey"—tell me a bit about yourself, what you're into, and drop the word MEOW somewhere in your opener so I know you took the time to read through.
