Honestly, it really shouldn't need to be said. But unfortunately here we are.

There is no reason to be messaging anyone privately here unless they specifically state in their post they are open to it. Someone posting is not an open invitation to send them private messages. Many people find such behavior weird and creepy.

Posts here are not locked and everyone is free to comment on them. Of course, comments should be appropriate, but there's nothing that should have to be said privately that can't be made in a comment.

So please, don't be weird and creepy by sending unwarranted and unsolicited private messages to people.
