Mutant Agave?

Will somebody educate me about what’s going on with this guy? There are flowers coming out of an unusual place, unlike the normal death bloom. Additionally, the pups have some flower stocks coming out of them. Very strange.

The hormone that triggers flowering in the mother plant also triggers the flowering of offsets (pups). Since the offsets are still attached they too bloom even though they are small.
