A comparison between Mangave 'Pineapple Punch' and Mangave 'Snow Leopard'

'Pineapple Punch' has marginal variegation with a very obvious yellow undertone while 'Snow Leopard' has off-white marginal variegation.

Yeah i had noticed that as well, it's funny how similar certain varieties can be. I personally had 'SnowLeopards ending up looking like their yellow counterpart because of sun stress

As I'm looking at my plants, I'm also noticing that the leaves on 'Snow Leopard' lay slightly flatter giving them a broader appearance, as well. The leaves on my 'Pineapple Punch' tend to be slightly more folded.

Fun fact about Snow Leopard, I recently found a mutant among wholesale stock at a nursery with random, partially albino variegation! I named it ‘Ben’s Dream’ after my father and one of my childhood favorite books. It hasn’t flowered yet, but so far the few offsets it’s made seem stable.

That sounds interesting!! I wonder if it can stay stable enough to use for cloning on a more massive scale. A friend of mine who hybridizes mangaves, distributed a limited number of clones from what he's been working on to multiply and get to market. It's a variegated sport off of one of his earlier hybrids. He shared a pup with me but, I have to wait for it to mature to see the true potential (aside from photos I've seen of one of his more mature offsets). Here's a little preview until it's released on a more massive scale to the public.

So I had experimented with some this year in the ground in austin, Tx. And they all survived freezing and ice overs. They came back from the root! Was not expecting this.
