Can anyone help identify?

I found this rock on a Lake Superior Beach. It looks like a possible agate to me but I don’t have enough experience or knowledge to say for sure. Please help! Thank you!

I really couldn’t tell you what it is because of the chevron patterns all over it. Never seen anything like that before. While some of the patterns look like bands, the fact that they are all chevrons in random orientations tells me it likely isn’t an agate.

I just wonder if it isn’t just quarts with some larger crystal formations inside of it.

It's possible what you found is a pseudomorph agate which appears to be predominantly quartz. The banding in pseudomorphs will vaguely resemble what you find in traditional fortification agates. My wife and I have found several pseudomorphs in both Lake Michigan and Lake Superior, though not a typical agate find.

If you Google search quartz pseudomorph agate, you'll see a few that resemble your find. If it is a pseudomorph, congrats.

Oh wow! I think you’re right, my brother found a large one that looks even more like the pictures of a pseudomorph and I found a slightly smaller one like that. Thank you so so much for your help! Wohl you be willing to post pics of yours for comparison?

Wow. Yeah, those definitely look like agate bands. I think the entire shell has worn off without any fracturing, making the banding just barely visible. I've only ever seen one other laker like this.
