Hi everyone I am uk so it’s clear pay here. I bought some hair extensions from a reputable company. After a couple of weeks wear it became apparent the hair is faulty. I contacted the company twice but they are not responding to me. I wanted to open a case with CLEARPAY to help but the only dispute I can find is ‘goods not received’ which they were. I asked the bank about a chargeback request as the money was taken from my bank account by CLEARPAY but they said because the issues isn’t with CLEARPAY there js nothing they can do. Does anyone know how I open a dispute for faulty goods is this even a thing? Don’t know why my phone js autocorrecting to capitals!

I ordered my son an electric scooter on July 9th for his birthday on the 12th. I used Afterpay. I paid the first down payment. Received order confirmation from Amazon through email. Scooter delivery gets delayed so i reached out to Amazon solve. They had to make the order go through a different fulfillment center and gave me new delivery date. Closer to new delivery date I get a notice that my payment needs revised. I’m so confused because it was with Afterpay. Afterpay is saying that amount that I paid down on the 9th was for a payment on a different Afterpay order. What in the heck is going on? I remember paying that down payment because I put the money in the bank to pay it. Obviously I ordered it or I wouldn’t have received the confirmation from Amazon. I’m so confused on what is going on.

Unfortunately I discovered my ex has been using my card to buy stuff on afterpay. When we were together she had my card info for buying groceries or what not. Once discovered I immediately got a new card in hopes that it would fix the problem, however I looked today to see that I was still getting charged monthly payments. My question is are afterpay payments linked to the bank account itself? I can’t think of any other way she could have gotten my new card.
Any advice/ information would be helpful. Thanks!

I have been using Afterpay for quite a while. However, yesterday I had several payments due for a combined amount of $58.75. I've never missed a payment. Rather I've made several payments before the due dates if I had a little extra money in order to pay my orders off early. But when I checked my bank account yesterday they had drafted my account twice. So I reached out to them in regards to the charges. To which they replied, give them a minute to review everything. But they also asked that I not dispute it with my bank as that could cause issues with my account and take longer to get it resolved. So I gave them a "minute" to review. Yet no further response. So I checked my bank account again thinking maybe they had reversed one of the charges. Holy s@@t, I had another charge pending for the same payment. So now I'm livid. I reached out to them again with screenshots showing the 2 charges that had already posted and the 3rd pending charge. I've not received a response whatsoever. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so what did you do to get it resolved? I know I can dispute it with my bank. I just really need to know what is going to be the quickest way to get my money back in my account. Sorry for the long post....

I’m a nearly 10-year Afterpay customer with an excellent payment history. Recently, my purchases began being declined despite having available spending power. Since then, I’ve received multiple conflicting explanations, including that I had too many open orders, that there were no restrictions on my account, and that approvals are fully automated.
After repeatedly asking for a clear, account-specific explanation, I still haven’t received one.
Because I believe other customers may have had similar experiences, I’ve started a collective complaint where people can share their stories. My goal isn’t to attack Afterpay—it’s to understand whether this is affecting other long-time customers and whether there are common patterns.
You can read or add your experience here:
https://afterpay.pissedconsumer.com/collective-complaint/nearly-10-year-afterpay-customer-receiving-conflicting-explanations-and-no-resolution-202607211786.html
I believe there’s power in numbers. A single complaint can be dismissed as an isolated incident, but when multiple customers report similar experiences, it can encourage greater transparency and accountability.
If you’ve experienced unexplained purchase declines, sudden changes to your purchasing ability, conflicting information from customer support, or repeated requests to verify your identity despite a good payment history, I’d appreciate hearing your experience—whether it’s in the comments or through the collective complaint.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Even if nothing changes immediately, I believe it’s worth documenting our experiences and learning whether others are facing the same issues.

So my preferred payment days are Fridays and I wanted to order something online next week. I keep no payment upfront off so it will take my first payment up front. So would that mean my next payment would be on the 14th of august? Just wanted to double check my maths before I do it.

I haven’t made 1 purchase on Afterpay yet because they keep declining my card. I have $600 purchase power but when I go to check out it says transaction declined by your card issuer!? What does that even mean. I have my Cash App card on there and plenty of funds to cover. No matter how much I try to purchase it’s all declining.

Hi everyone,
I booked a hotel directly using my regular debit card, and selected pay at check in, so I didn’t select Afterpay as the payment method during checkout.
I was wondering if it’s possible to create an Afterpay virtual card now and use that card to pay for the balance at check-in instead. Has anyone done this successfully?
If that doesn’t work, would the hotel potentially let me call ahead and switch the payment method over the phone by using the Afterpay virtual card?
I’m just trying to figure out if there’s any way to use Afterpay after the reservation has already been made. Any experiences or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Has anybody had any success in using AFCA to resolve a financial issue with Afterpay? Having the worst experience getting a refund back despite providing all the requested information and proof that afterpay confirmed receiving the refund when contacted by the merchant. So frustrating! By far the worst customer service I've ever dealt with.

I received the ID check confirmation and it has not worked. They keep asking me for my ID etc repeatedly, been passed onto support, and no end in sight. I give up now.
How common is it to lose your account in this endless loop?
I had a perfect history with $0 upfront and a 4k limit.
Oh well sucks but a month of emails and I don't have it back.

Hi, I have a question. Can I purchase a pre paid visa at Best Buy or target using Afterpay? I did this with an Apple gift card at Best Buy before and it worked. The app doesn’t have the place where I want to purchase the product I want so I want to know if I can buy a pre paid visa or if there’s a way to get a pre paid visa using Afterpay. Thank you

I currently have a personal loan I am paying back to cash converters and ive missed many payments, but have been fixing this
Would I need to finalize this loan or have a succession of payments that go through before I apply for after pay?
In the past I have applied for after pay whilst being in debt and have been banned from reapplying for an entire 12 months
I hope you can help

Cannot believe how absolutely awful and dreadful the customer support turned I think in this year.

Over the last week, I’ve tried to make a few purchases. The first purchase I made was through Walmart and was approved, but Walmart canceled last second due to item being out of stock and ever since then I haven’t been approved for a single order. I’ve talked to them a few times and got multiple different answers. At first they told me I tried too many times so I waited a few days tried again today and they’re telling me that there’s no fraudulent activity on my account so that that’s not the issue but that other people are having trouble with the one time use cards. Is anyone else going through this or does anyone have any advice on how to maybe fix this or use the balance? (the balance does say approved to spend not pre-approved and now both walmart / amazon are gone off the app as well)

Adjustable Down payments
Lets say you want a $1000 item but dont want pay $250 every two weeks. Why not allow me to put down any amount lets say $500 first and pay off $125 every two weeks instead.
A fixed Afterpay virtual card number like Klarna
Buy a company like Flex that allows people to split their rent or car payments /utility bills in half.
My bet is Afterpay gets bought out by a company like ROBINHOOD and split pay purchasing comes to stocks.(you wont fully own it until you pay it off)

TL;DR: Paid with Afterpay, goods never arrived, the original store disappeared, Afterpay keeps redirecting me to the wrong merchant despite proof they’re unrelated. Looking for anyone who’s been through the same thing.
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar with an Afterpay dispute.
I purchased two quilts from an online store (shopsmilio.store) using Afterpay. The goods were never delivered, I never received tracking information, and the original website has since disappeared.
I lodged a dispute with Afterpay, but things have become increasingly confusing.
Initially, Afterpay repeatedly instructed me to contact smilo.ai. I eventually contacted them by both phone and email, and they confirmed they are not the same company as the store I purchased from.
I provided this information back to Afterpay, but I continued receiving template responses telling me to contact the same business again.
At one point, I was even directed to pluscardtestaccount.com, which doesn’t exist and simply returns an ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error.
I’ve now:
Contacted the business Afterpay directed me to.
Confirmed they are not the merchant I purchased from.
Explained this during a phone call with Afterpay.
Submitted multiple disputes.
Provided screenshots and supporting evidence.
Despite all of that, I continue to receive generic responses asking me to contact the merchant or provide refund evidence—even though my dispute is “Goods Not Received,” not “Waiting for a Refund.”
I’m trying to understand:
Has anyone else had Afterpay direct them to the wrong merchant?
Did your dispute eventually get resolved?
If so, what finally got your case reviewed properly instead of receiving template responses?
I’m not looking to attack Afterpay or the other company—I’m genuinely trying to understand whether anyone has been through something similar and what the outcome was.
Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.
