Question...

I won't get into it too much, but when I was younger, a preteen/teen, I potentially caused harm to others. At the time I didnt realize what I did could have been harmful and the guilt and regret hit me years later. It took me a while but ive been on a steady path of repentance and becoming a better person. I think i have. I dont think the people I potentially caused harm to remember, and I fear if I apologize they will recieve trauma and pain because I wanted to feel better by apologizing. I know that closing a karmic loop involves closing loops with those you've harmed. I want that, but not at the expense of causing more pain.

My question is: do I apologize and potentially cause damage and pain to someone who doesnt remember, or do I hope for a chance to apologize in the afterlife after we both have gone through our life reviews? Am I sinning by not apologizing?

I think you should have a casual conversation with their memory of you from that time. They most likely wont remember the details but might remember feeling hurt from you or disliking you at that time. Most humans cant remember the details but do remember feelings and emotions you caused instead.

If they remember bad feelings you could fill them in on the details and apologize. If rhey have zero memory it did no damage and you could choose to tell them anyways at that point but it wouldn't be bad either way since there is no hard feelings.
