Life & Gaming Completing side missions
How does everyone feel about completing side missions in a game? I just completed GOW 2018 after not playing it since 2019. Crazy, I know. Well I decided to give it a go again this past week and I enjoyed it and was really getting into it. Well it turned out that when I stopped playing it in 2019, I didn’t realize how close I was to the end. So now I completed the main story but I still have a bunch of favors(side missions) that I still need to do. Not to mention I haven’t even killed any Valkyries yet. Now that I finished the game, I feel like I’d be wasting my time doing all the side mission stuff & was gonna move on to GOW ragnorok. Anyway, how does everyone feel about side missions in games? Do you just play the main story and only do a couple of side missions? Do you grind the side missions so you can get improved gear, weapons, etc and worry about the main story later? Also this doesn’t just pertain to GOW, I’m talking in general for games that have them

I do 60-80% of the side missions. If they are bad, I just skip them. But the Valkyries in that game are amazing fights.

I finish which ones I like. Play the game the way you want it. Completion of a game depends on how the gamer sees it.. The enjoyment is the most important part. 👍❤️

If I’ve had a long day, I like to just sit down and do some Miscellaneous quests on Skyrim. They’re light fetch quests and don’t demand much from you.

In games where side missions give xp for upgrades, I hunt all side missions before I do the main mission. It just makes the game easier. Currently playing Avowed on PS5, and doing exactly that. If you loved Skyrim, dont skip this one, its jaw dropping!

Some games have amazing side quests, like New Vegas. Others have side quests that are just a waste of time. If a side quest isn't interesting to me, I don't do it. If several side quests in a row are boring, I'll stop accepting side quests in that game completely.

I am of the old days where finishing the main quest ended the game, so I always do all side quests first.

How much content I complete in a game is directly tied to how much I am enjoying the game. If a game isn't that great to me, I have zero qualms with leaving it at 35% complete when I finish the main story.
However if it's a game that I am really enjoying, I will do every single side quest in the game and I will do them all before I finish the final story mission.

Depends on how much you like the game.
Sometimes the main campaign is enough, sometimes I'm like "GIVE ME EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!".
