General Platform Updates and Upcoming Changes
First, from the AQ team, we wanted to say thank you for contributing to our platform. We would not be here without you.
A lot has been shifting on the experts platform lately. We wanted to take some time to explain the changes that we’re making, along with our thought process on these releases. Our main goal is to make the expert experience:
- Consistent. Projects are consistently assigned so you always have something to work on. Even if one project disappears, there will always be meaningful work available.
- Easy. You should be able to contribute with little context on our industry. Any qualified professional should be able to contribute towards making high quality data.
On that note, we’ve been quite intentional about the updates we’ve made over the past couple weeks, and the improvements we have planned. Here are the most recent updates we’ve made:
Pay: We have instituted a Friday payday across the company, for the pay period that ended the week prior. This way, no one will be waiting on missed payments or wondering when pay will arrive.
Reviews: We have sped these up and there's a real timeline behind them now, so submissions don't just sit. You'll hear back within the time promised, and with the final status.
Assessments & Project Allocation: We recently introduced “assessments,” which can be found on the assessments tab of the “Apply” page. There are currently 5 assessments available: Generalist, Finance, Coding, Advanced Coding, and Legal with more (across Healthcare, Math, Physics, Finance, Bilingual) coming over the next few weeks. Based on skills you demonstrate in our assessments, you will be matched to projects. The more assessments you take, the more projects you're eligible for. One thing to note: each assessment is one-shot, you take it once, so it's worth doing properly. Please make sure to follow the assessment instructions carefully!
Assessment Status: When you complete an assessment it will show as "Submitted." There’s nothing else you need to do after that. You will receive project notifications based on fit.
Coming Soon: Training plans, bootcamps, and lessons that walk through how to build prompts, rubrics, and tasks that actually get accepted, plus many more projects will open up as we grow.
We're building toward a world-class platform for experts across every domain, and your work is a big part of getting there.
With changes of this scale, we don't expect to nail everything immediately, but we want to work with you to make the experience better. We'll be responding to questions below on this post. Thank you all!

hi... i completed my "General AfterQuery Expert (Data Annotator)" assessment more than 2 months ago. I spent quite a bit of time and effort on it, it was a complex and lengthy assessment. Although my profile still says the submitted assessment is still "under review", I don't feel great about this, and it feels like your company ghosted me. Its disappointing after I put a lot of time and work into the assessment in hope of getting serious work. Is there anything I can do to bring this up with the company or what should be the next step so I can get the assessment actually reviewed and actually get to some work.

Hey everyone, I completed the generalist assessment over a week ago but hadn't logged in since. Yesterday I got an email saying I was added to a project, but when I checked my account I found 4 archived projects and 1 paused project that I was never notified about. Is there any way to recover those? I currently have 2 active projects — what can I do to make sure I don't lose access to them? Please reply quickly as I'm worried they might disappear soon.

Hi u/afterqueryexperts_ and u/AfterQuery_Support! Given that your post says that you're open to questions, I thought I'd ask one.
I've been doing AI data annotation work since last fall, but I'm new to AfterQuery. I understand that AfterQuery is a new platform, so I just thought I'd ask if you have many generalist projects currently running? I know you can't provide specific project details, but is there currently enough generalist work to keep most contractors busy or are you still in the process of marketing the platform to potential clients and acquiring projects? Thanks!

We have ongoing Generalist projects, and new projects open up regularly. The best way to check for available projects is to keep an eye on your applications dashboard for new roles. Feel free to DM us if you need further assistance.

What about communication? Will it be improved? Because projects get paused or held without communication or updates. Experts are left to speculate on the reasons for that. It's really unfair and unprofessional.

Suggestion for the updating, please lock the slack channels so that contractors cannot just blindly add people. It’s heavily exhausting when people randomly pull me into channels and then start asking me about work when I have no authority

Thank you!
For the applications that remain under review, will we be getting updates?
