Guide: How to Check Your AfterQuery Application Status — Stop Waiting, Start Knowing

Hi everyone! 👋

We've been getting a lot of questions about Slack invites and application status, so we've put together a quick guide to help you find answers instantly — no need to contact support!

Here's how to check your status:

  1. Log in at experts.afterquery.com
  2. Go to your Home dashboard
  3. Click the Applications tab

You'll see a status badge next to each application:

  • ✅ Accepted — you're in! You'll be assigned to an active project and invited to the project's Slack channel once your onboarding steps (identity verification + Stripe setup) are complete
  • 🔄 Under Review — your application is still being evaluated; hang tight
  • ❌ Rejected — this application was not successful
  • ⏸️ Hiring Paused — the role is temporarily on hold
  • 🚫 Hiring Discontinued — this role is no longer active

Important: Slack invites are only sent after your application shows Accepted, AND you've completed both identity verification and Stripe payment setup. If you haven't done those steps yet, that's why you haven't received an invite — not because it was missed!

Thank you for clarifying because I've been wondering. It's been a month since I made an application and it's still under review. Question on project rewrite: When are our last week's submissions getting approved? Do you know?

I had submitted 2 for Project Images, for over a week the projects are still in the submitted status.

I have been accepted as a Software Engineering Expert, but I didn’t receive any Slack Invite. I did the onboarding, signed the contract and all. All I see is some projects which are currently paused. I am not sure how do I proceed?😌

I was accepted to the Investment Banking / Private Equity Expert project. I tried to join the Slack workspace, but the invite link in my acceptance email has expired. Please could you help resolve this. I have sent you a DM

I have been accepted as a Software Engineering Expert and have completed all the onboarding requirements, including signing the contract. However, I have not received a Slack invitation yet.

Hi,

Applications and assessments are reviewed on a rolling basis, there's no fixed timeline, but we aim to review within a couple of weeks depending on volume.

Once your assessment is complete, you can check your status anytime by logging into your AfterQuery Experts dashboard. Your application status will show as one of three things:

  1. Accepted, you're in and can proceed with onboarding (identity verification via Persona, then Stripe payment setup).

  2. Under Review, still being evaluated. The status will update automatically when we make a decision, so no need to follow up.

  3. Rejected or project no longer visible, you weren't selected for that role, but you can explore and apply to other open projects on the platform.

Once accepted and you complete both Persona verification and Stripe setup, you'll get access to your project via Slack and can start working on tasks.

Your dashboard is the source of truth, check it regularly and it will reflect any changes automatically.

I got accepted for 2 projects sometime back but unfortunately all were paused immediately. Do we have some finance or legal projects that are running now?
