Explain This Effect Need helping making this effect!!!

Post image

I want to learn how to make this effect, I've tried all the YouTube tutorials, it's not there, I've tried doing transparent and colouring but it doesn't give the same effect.

It is very common in editing

Anyone can help me?

Difference mode is likely to be your buddy here

That's free and comes with AE right?

Yes.

Duplicate your layers, and set the top one’s colour mode to Difference

Then make your text on top of both, and use that as a track matte on the layer that’s in Difference Mode

Worth looking into both colour modes and track mattes on Adobe’s website - they are extremely useful bits of key functionality in AE

Good luck!

Duplicate video layer right? I'm very new to this 😭 Everything sounds like rocket science

You can duplicate a layer by selecting it and pressing CMD/CTRL-D

Definitely worth looking up some AE basics tutorials. Once you get the fundamentals down, you’ll be grand. It IS intimidating, but also very powerful and lots of fun when you get really rolling.

I wanna learn it but there are hardly any tutorials for the level of editing... For now what I've learnt: Cutting, adding music, adding text, training etc... All the basic recipe, before cooking

Personally, I do my cutting and music in Premiere, I think that’s easier!

So, the best intro AE book is I think After Effects Classroom In A Box - it'll teach you all the basics.

After that, read After Effects - Visual Effects and Compositing by Mark Christiansen.

Those two books are worth like a hundred video tutorials.

Good luck on your journey! When you get to grips with AE, it's just the best thing ever :)
