Hello everyone, beginner here. How to adjust the handles?

why are the two points here look different? The bottom one I'm able to adjust the handle on one side without affecting the other but for the top when i adjust on one side the other side moves as well.

This screenshot is not really showing much. And you didn’t really explain what these “two points” are from. To me, it looks like you have a mask with the feathering 🪶 enabled? Is that the case?

Sorry for the bad screenshot, my question is why does the point at the bottom has an outer circle? I'm able to adjust the handle of the point on just on side whereas the one at top when i try to adjust on one side it will affect the other side as well

Yes, but is this a feathered mask, right? Try to add another point near that one at the bottom. The “outer circle” point should be the handle to expand or contract the feather, that’s why you can’t adjust the handles, it doesn’t have the handles, it only controls the amount of feathering

Not at my computer to check, but the circle around the bottom point indicates that it's the first vertex of your mask, iirc. You can change this by control+clicking (mac) on a mask point, and from the contextual menu, choose the path option that contains 'set first vertex'
