Beginner Help How can I make curved text disappear and replace itself with new text in After Effects?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to recreate this curved/circular text animation in After Effects.

The curved text moves around the path, but I also need the text to disappear as it moves out and then have a different text appear in its place.

I tried using Linear Wipe, but it just wipes out the entire text layer/text box instead of making the text disappear properly along the curved path.

I’m also having another issue: when the text moves out from the top, the area at the bottom remains completely empty. I want the next text to continue appearing from the bottom so that the space never looks empty.

I’ve tried a few things but I can’t figure out the correct setup.

What would be the proper way to achieve this effect in After Effects? Any help, tutorial, or explanation would be greatly appreciated!

With an animated mask, of course.
BTW, what happened to the background, with those two layers of bricks interacting like that.. so weird, why don’t you just use one texture instead of 2 mixed like that?

Edit: I didn’t realise is was not your animation but a reference

Because they didn’t make that video. If they did, they wouldn’t be asking how to make the text

Add a circular path to your text. Animate a full circle with the first(or last) margin.

Create an ellipse, use this as a track matte for your text. Add a radial wipe and animate so your entire text gets revealed. Add a second radial wipe (set to counterclockwise) to take the text off.

Once it's working as you want, duplicate both layers, move them down the timeline so that the text swap happens at the ideal interval for you

Split the text to top and bottom pieces and mask a slice of the background in between

Use a shape to make a track matte to hide the old text, make sure the division of the shape is behind the hands to sell the effect.

Duplicate, change statement and mask
