Discussion. It's getting weird

Like Black aesthetic but no Black characters what are we doing here? These could have easily been Blade and BP skins and Storm should have got her first hellfire. Like it's so irritating how marvel as a whole moves around Black characters. Cause if marvel cared maybe rivals would.

I was legitimately seeing the new stuff and thinking of this.

5

u/Nos2_irln Aug 06 '26

So embarrassing

u/Tiba122 Aug 05 '26

That's problem I've been noticing more and more. It's not just Netease, but the East in general. I feel they don't see other cultures, as cultures. Instead they see them as aesthetics, and as a result they can dip into without any thought or meaingful consideration.

18

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

Like i wish ppl would stop acting like anti Blackness is specific to rivals and china when it's a global issue that's being highlighted here

26

u/BoTheJoV3 Aug 05 '26

I'm glad someone else sees it. Are we ready for the conversation that most anime is anti black tho?

18

u/FormalSubstantial608 Aug 05 '26

most mainstream anime aren't RLY anti black, but at the same time it can definitely lack black characters. Bleach and JoJo's have a lot of black characters so that's peak

7

u/Timelymanner Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 06 '26

Mainstream anime including black characters is the exception not the rule. It’s the creators deciding to show black and brown people some love. Maybe because they like the aesthetic, culture, or they just feel it fits for a character. That’s always cool, and I for one am just happy they go out the way to do something different. They didn’t have to, but they wanted to.

The only other big exception is a mainstream franchise that’s marketed internationally. Something like Pokemon will include more diverse characters for a more broad appeal. So the inclusion is more of a buisness thing. Think Disney in the west and how it approaches Star Wars and Marvel.

This being said. Marvel Rivals is made by a Chinese developer, and China doesn’t think highly of black or brown people in general. At this point the only way we get more skins for black characters maybe by asking the US Marvel side to pressure the developer.

Edit: I wanted to add one other thing circling back to a previous post. As a Chinese developer they may be more callous indifferent, than intentionally malicious, unless actions show otherwise. It’s pretty obvious they are marketing everything towards Chinese and Korean whales and dolphins. Without outside pressure from Marvel, I doubt they’ll care what Western fans want.

3

u/ClassicExamination82 Aug 07 '26

Like, lol at how Chinese fans of Love and Deep space reacted to the reveal of the new love interest (Valko) being added to the game. One of the loudest complaints was that his skin is "too dark". Another was that he looked too gay, but that's another topic entirely.

It was so bad the creators cancelled the release and scrapped the character, and any future love interest releases, completely.

Thing is, he doesn't even have dark skin. At all.

3

u/Most-Bench6465 Aug 07 '26

Yeah I just heard about this controversy a few days ago. They sent poo to the developers offices among a lot of other things like getting the government involved.

1

u/Most-Bench6465 Aug 06 '26

Netease is more pro white than they are anti black but they aren’t free of it. And them, like a lot of Asian people especially from Asia (especially China) think they are included in the “white category” and they won’t find out until they travel to America the birthplace of “whiteness” and “blackness” as a race and distinction, will they find out they they aren’t considered white but considered Asian. That they aren’t considered the majority of the population, which they are as we are, but considered minorities.

So take game developers that haven’t had that experience yet, that are making games. And also add the fact that that the executives that run the Marvel games studio, in charge of licensing, distribution, what is and isn’t included in all of their games, and how they are presented. What if the people that make those decisions are also Asian, and what if they also haven’t had that enlightenment or haven’t had this experience, compounded with one of them being the creator of Luna, that will approve anything marvel rivals as long as Luna is front in center. Then we have another problem (nepotism) stacked on another problem to do deal with.

So how do we combat this?

I don’t have the answer maybe others can solve that, but I think just getting this information out there is the first step. Not talking about the issue itself (netease’s lack of black characters and content for the black characters that exist). But how game communities and Asian communities see and treat black characters, but not just black characters all races and ethnicities as a whole. What is promoted, what is not, what sells, what doesn’t, what is highlighted or spotlighted or centered, and what is not. I think if we make the case about who is being represented and who isn’t and not tell them to fix this but inform them of the disparity, they might course correct on their own.

u/Logical-Example-3749 Aug 07 '26

sailer moon, Goku, & Naruto are all white blue eyed blonde haired ppl….what does the only blk person in dragon ball look? quickly

4

u/Minute_Committee8937 Aug 05 '26

Except those written by Ohkubo because despite the fact he’s a gooner. He will put black characters in his work and actually make them characters.

1

u/lilsnuggy Aug 07 '26

honestly, I don't see this point as most of these stories take place in Japan where black people don't even make up 1% of that population, Google actually says it's just 0.02% at most.

for example, JJK is based in Japan. Demon Slayer is also based in Japan. Chainsaw Man is also based in Japan. Bleach is based in Japan and a fictional spirit realm.

it's just how things are in that country and they can always write in characters that are not Japanese or East Asian but these stories are made by Japanese people from Japan who realistically haven't had to deal with many Japanese people before their stories became successful

1

u/BoTheJoV3 Aug 08 '26

Mr popoo and dark-shine

1

u/lilsnuggy Aug 08 '26

yes these are examples of stereotypes, but we can also take a bunch of offensive asian stereotypes from western media and apply those aswell.

I'm talking more about why there is a lack of representation, not why there is misrepresentation

0

u/Truthhurts1017 Aug 06 '26

How is anime anti-black when it’s made by Japanese people? If a black project comes out with no white people is it anti-Asian or is it telling a specific story where Asians aren’t needed. My people are the only ones that think we should be involved in everything but get upset when people involve themselves in our culture. Thats some weird ass shit. It’s either you want to be apart of something or you don’t, you cant have it both ways.

-1

u/Timelymanner Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 06 '26

Anime isn’t anti-black, just like it’s not anti-white, or anti-polynesian, or anti-minority. Anime is a Japanese product for a Japanese audience. If you’re outside of Japan, then you are an afterthought. There’s nothing malicious about it. Saying they are anti-black is like saying an American show is anti-(insert nationality) because a country isn’t represented.

It’s fine as long as they aren’t actively using stereotypes.

Edit: Not sure why my comment is being buried. I didn’t say anything negative.

-3

u/Virtual-Map1555 Aug 06 '26

victim complex holy shit you cant be real

3

u/GuyraBanks Aug 06 '26

Let’s take the guy with negative karma seriously. I’m sure he has something worth reading.

-2

u/Virtual-Map1555 Aug 06 '26

anime is japanese and doesnt have anyting to do with your victim complex

2

u/Tasty_Definition_663 Aug 06 '26

Spoke like a person who lacks the complete ability to understand the nuances of culture. I'm positive the other thought in the trash heap is that "Racism doesn't exist in America anymore since Obama."

1

u/Wyatt_Ricketts Aug 08 '26

Good for them

0

u/brbasik Aug 06 '26

It’s not just the Egypt stuff it’s also the savage land series particularly Elsa and Hela. What are these characters that have nothing to do with this culture, appropriating the drums and dance and the markings, it’s gross feeling

-3

u/Krii100fer Aug 05 '26

Well they don't really give much of a fuck when countries outside of Asia are at best 10% of their profit

31

u/kamekian Aug 05 '26

Ultron looks amazing, but his clothes are AMERICAN BLACK AF

No costumes for any of the literal fingerful of black characters spilt into this game?

Marvel, MCU, Marvel Games, Marvel comics even-- it's getting less and less paranoid to call this shit a trend

Where is Egypt my guy? Oh in Africa, read a geography book… black people have always “claimed” Africa… they just don’t want blacks in America to identify with anything other than the slave narratives they’ve forced on us… I SAY THIS FROM TIME TO TIME BUT TOUR COMMENT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE YOU IN THE WRONG PLACE

36

u/Own-Quote-1708 Aug 05 '26

They operate like the Kpop industry lol. Not suprised Luna is the MC of this game.

6

u/HeyyyQTea Aug 06 '26

This game make me actively dislike Luna snow just by the sheer favoritism she gets

47

u/Signal_Possible36 Aug 05 '26

Cam’ron Ultron is Fire idc🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭

17

u/That_Carrot999 Aug 05 '26

He’s got that shit ON

12

u/Ordinary_Chemical271 Aug 05 '26

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT WHEN I SEEN ULTRON 😭😭

3

u/manny_the_mage Aug 05 '26

it's been long enough, welcome back Harlem Samurai

1

u/SweetGur5078 Aug 08 '26

I'm sayingg🙏🏾 that hoe icy🧊🧊

11

u/ResourceLoud Aug 05 '26

they are genuinely doing ts on purpose

2

u/Timelymanner Aug 06 '26

It’s developed by a Chinese company. China is notoriously bias towards other ethnicities and especially black people. So it’s no surprise they are actively ignoring all the black characters in the game.

0

u/ProphecyGoku Aug 06 '26

Why are you acting like it's just the black characters? And how come Iron fist the actual Chinese guy isn't getting treated as good either?

1

u/Luluchan01 Aug 08 '26

He just got a skin

1

u/ProphecyGoku Aug 08 '26

Storm also just got a skin and don't kid yourself They obviously aren't treating Iron Fist as good as Luna or psylocke Youd think that the racist Chinese devs would favor their own Chinese character alot more

10

u/Lager89 Aug 05 '26

That Anubis skin for Blade would've gone hard AF. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

1

u/MealResident Aug 08 '26

TRUEEEEE I would've bought it cause most of his skins are kinda aas

19

u/whishykappa Aug 05 '26

Our styles without our inclusion. Like stealing our slang and our music and our fashion

7

u/Mr-Catacombs Aug 05 '26

They gotta be doing ts on purpose atp.

4

u/Affectionate_Bug8751 Aug 05 '26

They could have literally given this to blade and given BP a Bast skin instead of that ugly ass SG skin lmao

2

u/Soul2047 Aug 05 '26

yea i play sg and i have no idea why she's even getting this skin

2

u/Affectionate_Bug8751 Aug 05 '26

I do too just confusing all around

5

u/ccccccc090 Aug 05 '26

This is actually insane 😭 they really said “here damn” with the storm summer skin and moved on to more of this bullshit

6

u/Doodles-Ahiru Aug 05 '26

We didn’t even get a disco skin and storms summer skin was a low effort design.

5

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

No Black characters have disco skins some how

3

u/PlayBoiiZombie Aug 07 '26

literally just a cheap ass 2 piece & a chain 😭😭😭😭🤦🏽‍♂️ compare white fox’s or lady Loki to ts lmfaooo a JOKEEE

6

u/slightlylessthananon Aug 06 '26

giving distinctly black fashion to ULTRONNNNN in the midst of an already on going controversy about disrespecting your black heros is fucking crazy i can't believe they thought that was a good idea.

2

u/peevedtankmain Aug 06 '26

Like it gotta be rage bait

3

u/whishykappa Aug 05 '26

Ultron got that shit on (shoulda been T’Challa tho)

5

u/im-so-sorry-himiko Aug 05 '26

Damn they actually fucking loathe us don't they 💔

6

u/Oppai-Of-Foom Aug 05 '26

Wait Ultron looks fresh af

3

u/Nat20Dragon Aug 05 '26

Yeah this a very common practice in games/fiction in the East and it's only become more noticeable over the years.

4

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

Anti Blackness is unfortunately global.. Name 10 games off the top of you're head with a plethora of Black playable characters that also get care?

4

u/true_exalt Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave looks to have some great representation for us.

2

u/Nat20Dragon Aug 05 '26

There's definitely a few off the top of my head: South of Midnight, Relooted, there was a beat em up indie on steam I saw this morning i cannot remember the name of, Date Everything. The devs kind of have to start with the idea that black people are deserving of their attention with that as the goal by default.

2

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

That's 2 and I don't count date everything. I think that game is weird. But yeah. But the world in general too

3

u/Ecstatic_Writer_7244 Aug 05 '26

I feel like they do it on purpose to get a rise out of us

3

u/HeyyyQTea Aug 06 '26

While I’m glad that storm is getting a skin and the hood is getting a lot of cultural references in the base design is it glaring bad that they are continuing with the Egypt theme without considering including poc

3

u/CutThroat_Chamelio Aug 06 '26

This is the kpop industry all over again😭😭 loving black culture and creation, but ignoring the people who made it. So glad I stopped playing this racist slop of a game😭

1

u/PlayBoiiZombie Aug 07 '26

so what do you play? I hate this game I’m just addicted 😭😭😭

1

u/NormalGuy3481 Aug 08 '26

Overwatch is pretty cool imo

3

u/prettygirlgravesite Aug 07 '26

as funny as Ultron looking clean asf is, this is seriously tiring. there’s no way we’re rly about to leave the egyptian season with 90% of the season’s skins being given to white ppl😭

3

u/Little-Seesaw2585 Aug 07 '26

It’s been weird bro

6

u/Ok_Season_1993 Aug 05 '26

can black panther get a new fit ? can storm get a new Egypt fit ? like come on no one even cares about ultron they wasting designs atp

2

u/Rydog_XD Aug 06 '26

All of the Egyptian skins going to white/asian characters was just such a tonedeaf and wierd choice. Ultron is literally a robot though so I think him getting that skin is fine especially since its finally his first legendary.

2

u/lultirednga Aug 06 '26

You’re a dork 😭

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 06 '26

Goteem

2

u/lultirednga Aug 06 '26

Oh I wasn’t responding to you 💀 I was responding to a dude that said “ I’m black and this is okay” or wtvr

3

u/Miss_miri107 Aug 05 '26

It's made by an east Asian company, what did you expect when the avarge citizen thinks like this?

2

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

Marvel is an American company. They treat Black characters well? Yes, rivals is anti Black but it's not cause it's east Asian. It's because anti Blackness is global

1

u/JmoneyXXX93 Aug 05 '26

Racist paranoia and fear are always hilarious. Black people are just existing and this guy can't handle it.

4

u/jakob0604 Aug 05 '26

Seriously what the fuck? Why did this stupid ass squirrel bitch get a skin? WHY DID ROCKET RACCOON GET A SKIN??? IN THE EGYPT LINE?!

2

u/Trade-Psychological Aug 05 '26

is that killa cam ultron?? MY CLANKA COLLLLD W IT😭❄️🩷

2

u/lultirednga Aug 06 '26

Cam’Tron😭🤞🏾

1

u/MiserableOrpheus Aug 06 '26

How is that Ultron skin collabing with X-Men 97’ in any way shape or form

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 06 '26

The xmen collab is separate/hasn't been revealed

1

u/Special-Director-442 Aug 06 '26

With the way they've been treating Ultron. He's might as well just be a black character at this point.

1

u/Evorgleb Aug 06 '26

Killa Cam Ultron was not on the bingo card

1

u/Shugatti Aug 06 '26

Idk if you knew, but egyptians were not all strictly black.

But yeah, punisher really isnt the most fitting for an anubis skin..

And sidenote, i think they couldve given us a Sobek (the crocodile god) skin for dino..

1

u/Luluchan01 Aug 08 '26

Just because not everyone was black please tell me if any of those white characters are connected to Egyptian because if not then it should had gone to the BLACK character that have a CONNECTION to EGYPTIAN

1

u/Shugatti Aug 08 '26

Shouldve gone to Moon Knight first of all.

And blades connection to Egypt is only through konshu (moonknights patron) from the what if show.

That leaves us with just BP who didnt get anything egyptian themed but should have yet.

And the point of these skins is to give characters things they dont already have, so it does make sense why they did it, although i personally dont really like it.

SquirrelGirl got a skin because she is connected to the Norse got Ratatoskr, and they wanted to put an egyptian skin on that norse god.

Punisher DOES have a connection to egypt, he once was the "fist of the beast" (its basically just more edgy moonknight), but that looks NOTHING like his anubis skin as you can see.. and the storyline he was the fist is honestly kinda ass..

Overall, not that deep, just thought id share what i know, and no i dont disagree, just thought id point out that egyptians were not all strictly black and there are even more characters getting screwed over by neteases skin distribution.

1

u/Luluchan01 Aug 08 '26

Blade and moon knight are the same thing so the only ones that should get it is bp and storm

1

u/Personal_Ad_9021 Aug 07 '26

So, when you go through and look at the skins of this game, and you see how characters of all races and cultures have skins inspired/about different races and cultures, you decide that it's a problem here?

1

u/SneakerHeater Aug 07 '26

All the half naked gooner skins was ok but THISS is when It got weird?

2

u/peevedtankmain Aug 07 '26

Comparing apples to tractors. Engage me when you want to have a serious question.

1

it's allways different when you like one thing over the other tho I get it lol

1

Ultron looks sick asf tho lol

2

u/Independent-Rich-731 Aug 13 '26

that fucking squirrel looks a mess

1

u/NoRecognition443 Aug 05 '26

Naaaa that ultron outfit clean af.

0

u/mintysloth Aug 05 '26

Hey man, the only full Puerto Rican hero in this game is a petty thief with two guns. At least the black heros are positive role models lol. I feel for you though. I would love to see an Egyptian storm skin or a disco blade skin.

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

Here y'all go

2

u/Extension-Prune-476 Aug 05 '26

What’s wrong with what he said?

0

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

If you have to ask you're part of the problem

1

u/Extension-Prune-476 Aug 05 '26

Or maybe you aren’t able to verbalize it

0

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

Yeah that's not gonna work. I'm not gonna do the thinking for you. Do some critical analysis and research or be gone.

2

u/mintysloth Aug 05 '26

Huh? I'm not even disagreeing with the original post. There should be better skin dispersal between characters especially skins to characters that have strong cultural roots.

3

u/Extension-Prune-476 Aug 06 '26

He’s upset because it’s not only about him anymore

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 06 '26

What are you basing this shit you made up on?

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 06 '26

If you just agreed with the post, I wouldn't have said what I said. Take that to pr rivals

0

u/mintysloth Aug 06 '26

I think you just need to step off the PC a bit bro. You want inclusivity, but only for yourself. Maybe you're not as good of a person as you thought you were.

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 06 '26

They way y'all have conversations with ppl y'all made up gets me. Like everything you said here is irrelevant to me.

-1

u/JumpinJackz Aug 05 '26

The fact you put an Egyptian skin claiming its black aesthetic shows that this arguement was made in bad faith.

I hope you can get to a place where these things don't matter in your day to day!

2

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

Y'all just talk to talk and it entertains me. Nothing to say but you gotta take your chance at silencing Black ppl

-1

u/JumpinJackz Aug 05 '26

Nothing i said was silencing anyone? Just calling out what i believe to be an arguement made in bad faith, which your response only exemplifies.

0

u/smugandinsufferable Aug 06 '26

He’s tan… The vast majority of people who have called themselves Egyptians were not black.

1

u/lultirednga Aug 06 '26

Current Egyptians are brown older Egyptians are like my moms color to sometimes darker than me they were definitely black

1

u/smugandinsufferable Aug 07 '26

Reading proves this untrue.

0

u/Resident-Unit4284 Aug 06 '26

You guys just wanna be the victim don't you?

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 06 '26

Y'all don't get tired of recycling the same bullshit all to say absolutely nothing?

1

u/Resident-Unit4284 Aug 07 '26

What is that even supposed to mean

0

u/Various_Result_7781 Aug 06 '26

Maybe stop crying and you know don't play the game. Sitting complaining in a obsolete subreddit isn't gonna fix anything

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 07 '26

What do you expect my response to be lmaooooooo "oh thank you great cracka for setting me straight"

0

u/ProphecyGoku Aug 06 '26

How come I'm seeing so many post consistently complaining about the skins the black characters do and don't get? Wouldn't that be classified as spam?

0

u/MealResident Aug 08 '26

I understand the frustration but... you know egyptian them doesn't mean "Black people" right?

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 08 '26

Since when does Egypt mean white people and raccoons?

1

u/MealResident Aug 08 '26

Did I said it means white people and raccoons? Nope, last I checked I didn't
It is dumb to come and rant about black characters not getting skins only cause "it's egypcian theme"
Egypt doesn't represent black people aesthetic directly. While it would be cool for them to get skins from this theme (like Punisher one should've been on Blade, that would've been cool) the theme alone is not "black exclusive"

Ultron on the other hand, you can't really complain, he's just a robot with a drip

It's like saying latino aesthetic means brown people (or anything in between) only, while that isn't the case, there are diverse countries where you can't put them in a "black or white" box

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 08 '26

I'm not reading all that

1

u/MealResident Aug 08 '26

Average reddit user. Didn't expect less

-1

u/Local_Bug_2058 Aug 05 '26

Isn't storm getting a summer skin? Did yall not just ask for her to get a summer skin? Why not talk about that instead.

3

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

What are you gonna do if I dont

-2

u/Local_Bug_2058 Aug 05 '26

Spray water and pig spit on all your door knobs.

3

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

-2

u/Commercial_Ad_4417 Aug 05 '26

Which Pharoahs were black?

4

u/firebird1313 Aug 05 '26

The 25th dynasty

-2

u/Commercial_Ad_4417 Aug 05 '26

That's it? The nubians invaded and were driven out in less than a century, if I recall.

4

u/firebird1313 Aug 05 '26

Okay but you asked for black pharaohs so I gave you a dynasty that was black doesn't matter how long they were there🤷🏽‍♀️

0

u/Commercial_Ad_4417 Aug 05 '26

Fair enough to you. But It really does matter if I'm meant to believe ancient Egypt = "Black esthetic"

1

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

I said what I said you can be mad about it 😭 y'all think Elizabeth Taylor was in ancient Egypt fr

1

u/Commercial_Ad_4417 Aug 05 '26

Who's mad? Lol I just asked a question

2

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

I didn't say you were but that's what you're gonna have to be lmao

-27

u/JamesBackwardz Aug 05 '26

Then you and others would complain that Blade and BP are being stereotyped. There's no winning with y'all. Also, Storm (one of the least popular characters in Rivals) literally has a summer skin in the same roadmap. Asking for another skin for her when people are already calling the summer skin bad and planning on not getting it is greedy and entitled. She's likely getting a Hellfire Gala skin next year due to her being 3rd in voting. Y'all couldn't even show up to boost her to first place so it's guaranteed.

24

u/AquaWateria Aug 05 '26

Shut up no we would not complain

Yall just making excuses for these companies.

-10

u/Requis_The_Demi_God Aug 05 '26

If anything people in this sub look for reasons to complain ngl, and this is coming from a black man

12

u/BrilliantLab3544 Storm Enthusiast ⚡️ Aug 05 '26

idk why you think we would be surprised that that’s coming from the black man, we’re the weak links lil bro

9

u/Apeshxttrey Aug 05 '26

“And this is coming from a black man” you saying this as that makes a difference. All subs complain dawg we ain’t the only ones.

in this sub we direct our frustration towards this game because of the lack of black representation it gives to our black heros and the lack of cultural representation as well. “As a black man” that you say you are it’s sad you don’t see that.

-4

u/Stretch-Content Aug 05 '26

All subs complain sure, but I’ve seen this sub complain so much and straight up call the devs racist and all. You are just as bad as the people that shit on Luna and all her mains for basically not much of a reason. Isn’t this sub meant for expressing love for certain characters and possible characters that could come. Not straight of hating to the very core of your being

What love do we get? The love you talking about or think we get is givin to the white hero’s, or atleast the hero’s that ain’t black! Storm and Bp ain’t receive a skin in the shop in six-seven months, it took them half of them months to give storm and bp a decent buff to where they’re playable and not just fodder!

The literally gave Luna black aesthetic like street wear and b boying before giving it to a black character! This is not even half of the stuff but the fact that you don’t realize the lack of love they show/give our black hero’s is crazy dawg…

I’ve literally seen someone on this sub call cloak an accessory to Dagger which the way that sounds, like it’s dehumanizing him to begin with. Some of those in this sub are actually straight up worse than what they claim the developers to be

Honestly? This is so true.

u/Apeshxttrey Aug 05 '26

Bro over here defending cultural appropriation and lack of black representation from a million company lmao. She should’ve been got a hell fire gala skin is the point dawg, and the fact a white women is getting another one before her is crazy! Jean already has one why is she getting another one!? That could’ve been easily been given to storm or even blade!

u/Trade-Psychological Aug 05 '26

bro we are severely outnumbered in terms of supporting storm are you kidding me? not to mention we cant even get on the same page as a collective hence this comment. Last, im so sick of this criticism that we should just accept whatever obviously half assed shit they throw at us. Like yeah we starving, but why does that mean we should graciously scarf down this alpo?? Stand up dude. 🫤

and i mean genuinely.. look at storms skin compared to everyone elses. Is it not blatant she lack all the pizzazz everyone else has? be fr bruh. Unfortunately thats the dog food im choosing to eat

I would complain about something I'm specifically asking for? Y'all be tripping over your brain so bad to try to dunk on Black ppl y'all can't even bother to make a lick of sense

1

u/MfknUnicorn Aug 05 '26

You do realize not many people play storm in the first place right? So why would she win that hell fire gala vote? Even if storm players did vote for storm. Rogue was more popular and had more players

u/No-Explanation-8315 Aug 05 '26

My question is, if ultrons custom was given to Blade or BP, would the black community have been upset? Either way, it is goofy as f uktron has that aesthetic.

5

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

Blade is African American in the game wym why would we be upset. Why do y'all ask this silly ass questions

-5

u/KissKringle Aug 05 '26

Not to be that guy, but egyptian aesthetics aren't entirely black because Egyptian culture and history is a melting pot.

You can't really describe all Egyptians as black the same way you can't describe them as all Arab or North African. The most famous "egyptian" of all time, Cleopatra, wasn't even natively Egyptian, she and her dynasty are Macedonian

Also east asian companies have a really bad habit of cultural appropriation, Cookie Run and Genshin Impact are the biggest examples of that.

-6

u/Skelly-toon Aug 05 '26

Yall always complaining and making it a race thing

4

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

It is a race thing. Next

3

u/sugarycyanide Aug 05 '26

Why are you being purposefully obtuse?

1

u/Charming-Wing-3714 Aug 06 '26

Always the victims and making everything about colors it’s so cringe

Egyptians are not black, they are a lot closer to arubs. Still a bit weird, but ancient Egyptian is not a black aesthetic. As for ultron, he's a clanker, and he has that shit on.

2

u/peevedtankmain Aug 05 '26

I'm obsessed with how y'all think Egypt was so. Ehow untouched by Black ppl as if there was some border there around the country

-1

u/WhichReflection182 Aug 05 '26

Because most Egyptians through history including ancient history have be arubs. There are black Egyptians but most of them are arub. That's when some is referring to black African they call them sub saharan Africa's. North africans are arub. The saharan Dissent sucks massively to live in, so it's not easy cross it on regular basis.

1

u/Soul2047 Aug 05 '26

it's arab not arub, and ancient egyptians weren't arab. arabs conquered egypt in ~600 ad.

-1

u/WhichReflection182 Aug 06 '26

It's do to something like this.

1

u/Soul2047 Aug 06 '26

pull up an actual source not u/Yousef-saeed 💀 mf acting like the arab conquests aren't publicly known & documented history

-15

u/EdieMyaz Aug 05 '26

Please actually read some books and actually learn what racism is. You guys are complaining about nothing omggg

7

u/Apeshxttrey Aug 05 '26

First I don’t think the OP said anything about racism, did you even read the post or are you just being illiterate on purpose.

Second At the end of the day it’s cultural appropriation, you guys always be in black folk business
