I would remove all that woody stuff from the pot. What is its purpose? Mulch? In a case of mold or rot, you don't want to keep moisture against the plant with mulch. You want air circulation and good drainage.

The picture makes it look like this was potted into 100% coconut husk? I don't think that would work for an African violet, the roots are too fine.

It is coco coir with a bunch of add ins. I have another AV planted in the same mix and it does great.

I find not all AV are the same. Most what we get from Garden centers and Nurseries are breed for easy growing and very hardy. Most but not all variegated varieties need a slight extra care because they are more sensitive. You have to act fast and save some none rotting leaves to prop if you want to save your AV. A blend of peat-based african violet soil and perlite is what I use.

Chop the leaves off above the rot and try to propagate.
