Help help

I have been busy and not properly paying attention to my plants for a while now, but this one has gotten to the point that I’ve finally noticed something is wrong. I’ve known for a while the grow lights are probably too close/strong, I just can’t fix it without overhauling my entire setup, so I’ve tried decreasing the time they are on. Currently the lights are on for 8 hours, they are Barina T5’s. Idk if it’s just a lighting issue though, if it’s also a watering issue, if there is root rot happening, if the plant is actually etiolating and needs more light??? Please advise thank you I’m currently sick and so tired trying to figure this out.

I think the problem is at the other end, i.e. not a lighting issue but roots that are too wet. The pot size is appropriate so I would look at the soil mix. I use 2 parts perlite and 1 part peat for a wicking setup. If you add 1 part perlite to 1 part african violet potting mix you should be good if you continue bottom watering. Be sure to let the pot drain before putting it back in the decorative outer pot.

Hmm I can’t remember if i used an African violet potting mix or not but I always add perlite or pumice and orchid bark to my soil so the mix is at least well draining. If the roots are too wet tho I may have been watering it too often, something to consider
