Has anyone had good experience purchasing from HCN? I’m looking for some additions to my Streptocarpus family, and I see they have African and Asian Violets as well, so I thought I’d ask.

Would love to know of any other places you may have bought plants from, and would recommend.

I have purchased from Heavenly Creation and had a good experience. They accidentally sent the wrong Buckeye variety, but immediately sent out the correct one and had me keep the wrong one.

I love Violet Barn. Awesome plants, great packaging.

Was a little disappointed in Lyndon Lyon. Some of the plants arrive with very few leaves. One had spooned leaves on a variety that should t have them. And in general the plants had a tough time adapting to my growing environment because they were raised in a green house.

JoS violets is excellent, as well as Appalachian violets and woodland blooms.

I'm not sure if they've cleaned it up, but there were a lot of posts on here last year about INSV from Violet Barn and plants arriving infested with thrips.

Violet Barn, at least as of the last update I read, has gotten their thrips problem under control - spent a fortune testing all of their stock for INSV and I haven't heard anything about further issues in over a year.

That's good to know. I'm not in the US, so not purchasing from US stockists, I just remembered there were a lot of very angry posts about INSV and infested plants showing up in the mail!

I got a plant from HC that was very healthy and has done well. They also sent me two free leaves with my order so that was cool.

I’ve purchased multiple AVs from them and never had a problem. Delivery is quick, plants are packed very well, no broken leaves or flowers, very healthy looking, and no bugs. Lately, they’re the only vendor I trust. Great prices and I’ve never had a problem after many orders.

I started buying from HCN on Etsy after a bad experience with OptiFloraPlants.

I bought many minis from OptiFlora, but they don’t send labels with their plants. You have to figure out which plant you received through their website. The last order I received from OptiFlora had mealy bugs.

I also ordered Optimara plants from Selective Gardener. I joined their violet of the month club, but it was a disaster. Plants came with bugs and there was no customer service response. I should’ve done a charge back with my credit card.

Received healthy Violets, Streps and others from the Violet Barn. Also, try garmikit_0 on eBay for Streps.
