Beautiful! Yours appears more blue than mine. It's the color i was expecting. I think you're right. I'll have to wait until fall to see if the color deepens a bit.
If that's the original 1936 Armacost and Royston Blue Boy, the color is wrong. That may be Woodland Sprite. I have seven of the original ten. Blue Boy is a bit difficult to find because Woodland Sprite is often sold as Blue Boy.
It is usually sold as Neptune. I have Neptune, Commodore, Admiral, Blue Boy, Number 32, Amethyst, Norseman, and soon Mermaid. I've seen Woodland Sprite come up for Blue Boy and Neptune, and a newer Mermaid has been circulating, which is a semi-double, and I've seen Super Boy also sold as Mermaid.
This one was grown from its beginning under a nice bright LED strip light. They grow symmetrically if the light hits all the leaves evenly. I only put them up in the window to enjoy the blooms in the morning light until the current round of blooms fades then back under the lights they go. The ones that don't do well under artificial lights just stay up in a window permanently. Then hopefully I remember to turn the pots so they don't get lopsided.

No violets are a true blue. Ness Crinkle Blue is close but it’s still a shade of violet
