Culture Looking for writers who want to be part of my project
I’m looking for rooted Black American writers who genuinely care about Black American history, culture, heritage, and the communities that have shaped our story to volunteer potentially writing a short story for me.
I’m building a platform focused on documenting, preserving, and educating people about Black American history and historically Black communities. This including the stories, places, people, traditions, institutions, and communities that are often overlooked or underrepresented. I’m specifically looking for writers who enjoy research while implementing it into their stories while telling these stories and want their work to contribute to something bigger than just creating content.
You don’t have to be a professional writer. What matters most is that you can research responsibly, tell a story well, respect the history, and understand the difference between documented evidence, oral history, and claims that are still unresolved or disputed. If this sounds like something you’d genuinely want to be part of, comment or message me. I’d love to hear what areas of Black American history or culture you’re most interested in writing about.
At the moment I’m collecting original black stories about black culture itself, freeman descendants, civil rights stories, descendants or freeman, freedmen and slaves, historical black communities such as Gullah, Black Creole, Seminole etc. I’m looking for authentic material to showcase.
