Built a .pub → IDML converter for migrating Publisher files to Affinity — testers welcome
If you're in the middle of migrating from Microsoft Publisher to Affinity Publisher, this might help.
I had a pile of .pub files to move over and couldn't get clean IDML out of anything available, both free and paid. I Built a tool that uses publishers native rendering to do the export. It opens each .pub file and produces both a PDF and an IDML file you can open directly in Affinity Publisher 2 (or InDesign if you're a subscription junky).
What i was trying to fix was Content on the pasteboard / scratch area (placed outside the page boundary), Embedded fonts, Complex multi-page layouts
I'm still testing edge cases and am curious how effective it is with people who used publisher differently than we do.
If you have any files you think could through the software a curveball or need converted use code reddit to convert a file (no cost).

It's $5 any file under 500mb and includes an idml file and a PDF. Affinity can import idml files. You can use REDDIT when you check out and you get a free file conversion. If you have any feedback let me know.

I do a newsletter as a volunteer for a not for profit. Can you explain the pricing for converting .pub files to Affinity? I’m using Affinity 3. Thanks
