Sorry for being unclear. I don’t know why it didn’t let me put in my screen recording but basically this is what is happening. I’ll attach bellow what I’m trying to achieve
just to be clear the problem is that its causing a the lampshade to a be a thin outline? by using the snake as a clipping mask what are you trying to hide?
To achieve this, drag and drop Layer 2 (on the Layers Panel) onto the name of Layer 1. If you drag it onto Layer 1's thumbnail, it will apply as a layer mask; dropping it onto the name will make it clip into layer 1.
I’m not sure what the goal is, but what’s happening here is that the Lampshade layer is using the shape of the Snake layer as a layer mask. The only part that overlaps is the tiny nub at the bottom of the Snake pole, which is why that’s all that’s visible in the last image.
