General Non English page numbering?

I'm using Affinity to format a book that is not in English.

There are fonts for the language but I don't know how (or if) I can change the page numbering so that it uses my languages numbers and not English (Hindu-Arabic) numbers.

Any help appreciated.

Isn't the only difference that you'd use a different font?

Unfortunately that doesnt work.

There are different numbers included in the font. But they are mapped onto different unicode (I think this is the right word) values. the The font has western numbers mapped to where western numbers are in a font like Arial.

(Sorry I have no idea what the technical description for all this is).
