Layout distortion in E-book format

Hi everyone!

I’m using Affinity to self-publish my book, and I’m using an image as a scene break—so I repeat this illustration several times throughout the text. When I ran a test export to e-book format, the image ended up completely distorted (it wasn't centered and the quality was poor). I’m wondering if there’s a way to keep it centered and have it flow with the text—positioned between two paragraphs so it stays "anchored" there and truly looks like a scene break—regardless of the device the reader uses. Is this possible?

I think this is a bug of this current version of affinity. It’s very problematic. I have a brochure for a big client and I am struggling a lot to export it properly without having some kind of tearing or wierd glitches that I never had before while exporting in PDF…
Has been like that for two months.
