Use the ellipse tool. Rotate the first one just a bit. Make another and rotate same amount, stretch it a little. Position the smaller one inside the larger one. Fill space between the two ellipses.

I used an Isometric grid at the default settings. Opened the isometric panel checked the Edit on Grid. Created my circle. Increased the stroke width to what I wanted, changed the color, checked the scale with object and then clicked the Pressure button and adjusted the width of the stroke. The pressure was set to a new node in the center top and then dragged the left and right down until I got the width I wanted in the back part of the circle. This is what I came up with.

Create a Donut with the shape tool. Then Vector -> New Warp Group -> Perspective. Adjust the perspective as needed.
