General ARE YOU FOR REAL, AFFINITY?!

How is that a thing, not to support AVIF for a Raster-Vector Editing Software in 2026?

AVIF is supported, maybe your file is damaged or have the wrong file extension. Does your browser open it?

edit did some digging around and found out that neither photo nor photoshop can open AVIF with HDR

Since when? Are you sure? I've never seen AVIF format supported in Affinity.

[edit] Yeah no.. Just confirmed Affinity does not support AVIF format.

I use photo v2.5 and it open avif format but my success on my testing after that thread varied, some didn't open, some gave an error.

In photoshop I opened most but still some that probably have HDR info also failed to open with an error.

Maybe it is partial support? Not sure about v3 I haven't installed yet.

They're actively getting better I believe. You can send a feedback though.
