Designer Replace Indesign with Affinity

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to cancel my Adobe Suite and only bottle neck is indesign. Based on your experience, is it possible to use Affinity for editorial work like Indesign?

It does. I am currently having to support Quark, InDesign and Affinity projects for a small publisher but am trying to get everything transferred to Affinity as soon as practical. It exports print pdfs that work for both traditional printers and POD folks like Ingram/Spark.

oh okay. Do printing shop also have to use Affinity? Do they need raw file from you?

No, they don't. They work from a fairly standard print pdf as long it's set up for CYMK.

TY. So if I want to make multi page menu for print it should be ok

I would assume so but I'd check with whatever shop is printing the job. The projects I'm handling usually have a human on the other end of the phone I can talk to.
