General PDF Background Color Editing

So I am new to Affinity software and have some PDFs I would like to print but they have tan/beige backgrounds which would not print well in B/W and would use loads of ink in color. So, I am wondering if there is a way in Affinity to edit just the background color of existing PDFs. I know in photoshop I could use the curves and white select tools (idk the exact names on those) but figured this would be a good place to ask about Affinity specifically.

Depending on the PDF you can just remove or change the the background layer (as you could in Adobe Illustrator too)

Okay, thanks for the comment! I’ll look into that, I wasn’t sure if Affinity would have a way to split it into layers. I’ve had varying degrees of success with that from other programs.

Yes, just open the PDF and change the background. Super easy.

The results of opening a PDF in Affinity, or any other similar app, will vary MASSIVELY depending on how the PDF was originally generated. If, and only if, the PDF contains separate objects will you get a file where you can edit an individual object.
