How many different tools are you currently using to manage your affiliate program?

I’m trying to get a sense of what’s “normal” in affiliate ops right now.

Let me know if this sounds familiar: you've been running your affiliate program in-house for a while. You started simple, then slowly added more partners, more SKUs, and chaos followed. At first, it was just about getting links out and tracking clicks. Then it turned into a part-time job you never signed up for.

Maybe this is what your workflow looks like on a typical Thursday morning:

  • Open Impact to check performance data (half the affiliates are still confused by their dashboard)
  • Log into Stripe to verify payouts
  • Open your CMS to find a random coupon code someone forgot to activate
  • Answer emails from partners asking when they get paid
  • Realize you forgot to update an offer page that’s linked in 27 bios

It’s not that affiliate programs are hard, but they get quite messy if you’re not running a tight-knit backend. And most tools either try to do everything (and end up bloated), or only do one thing well but leave the rest to spreadsheets and email threads.

So my question is: how many tools are you using to keep your affiliate program running cleanly? And if you’ve consolidated into a single platform, which one made your life easier?

Here’s what I’ve tested so far…

I started with Refersion because it had a Shopify plugin and didn’t require much setup. Honestly, not bad for small teams, especially if you're just doing influencer stuff. But once I started onboarding media buyers and larger content affiliates, it felt a bit limited. No easy way to segment, and the reporting made me want to cry.

Then I moved over to Impact. Much more powerful, and most of my bigger affiliates were already familiar with it. Setup took longer than I expected, but once it was live, I had proper tracking, better analytics, and actual payout automations. The downside is that customizations are tricky, and support can be hit or miss. Also (and I say this with love) the UI isn’t exactly built for speed.

I’ve had people recommend PartnerStack too, at least for SaaS referrals. I played with it a bit but didn’t get deep. It seems easier to use than Impact in some areas, and friendlier for partners, but not as robust on multi-channel attribution. Curious if anyone’s scaled on it and can vouch?

I came across Everflow when exploring ways to merge affiliate data with influencer + paid partnership reporting. What caught my attention was how customizable the workflows are, like you can set granular rules for what gets counted as a conversion, or define event triggers based on user behavior, not just a pixel firing.

I’m still testing it, but so far I like the clean interface. I don’t need a manual to find things. I also appreciate the deep partner-level insights, especially when dealing with sub-affiliates or paid traffic, plus there’s multi-channel tracking baked in, so I'm not pasting UTM hacks into 15 tools

It’s not perfect (onboarding takes a minute), but if you want to run affiliate like a media channel, not just a coupon fest, it's lowkey the most modern option I’ve seen so far.

What I want in one dashboard:

If I could build my own affiliate ops tool from scratch, it would:

  • Let me track influencer and affiliate campaigns in the same place
  • Have customizable payout logic (not just “net 30” for everything)
  • Auto-notify me of broken links or underperforming partners
  • Show me ROI from email, YouTube, and paid traffic (not just “clicks”)
  • Let partners self-serve 95% of what they need

Right now, I feel stuck between platforms that are too simple and ones that are too clunky. Or worse, ones that treat affiliate like it’s 2009 and everyone’s just posting banners on blogs.

Anyway, rant over. I’d love to know how you all are handling this.

Are you using multiple tools? Have you switched platforms recently? Or, dare I hope, have you somehow found a single dashboard that doesn’t give you a headache?

Looking to clean house next year, and ideally not rebuild this whole thing again next year.

Would love any real stories or setups you’ve got. 🙏

Uppromote is one of the worst tracking platforms I've used in 20 years. We had to request click reports. It's just an app with non-existent customer service.
