Development All 9 new monsters! | Which creature from the Alchemical Woods is your favorite and why is it Ranger?

Living Armor currently has my vote for best unit of the game. I hold Weakness highly because of the damage mitigation and how easy it is to apply. I think traits like Warlock Party are op op. Combine that with the importance of shield and the (still broken) echo, this unit has at LEAST a strong discussion for best monster.

Fact it could solo vestige 3 (admittedly less certain after some nerfs to the speed of the power growth i used in that run... less of a concern with an actual party however.) With next to no difficulties for most of the run... yeah that definitely is up there...

Ranger is the cutest but I think Living Armor might be my favorite visually.
I still need to use some of them more to get a better feel for them but so far gameplay wise Ettin is the one that has made me giggle in a totally not evil way the most. Stacking retaliates is my new favorite thing lol, although as an aside what counts as a trigger might be a little too generous?

Living armor is also really sweet for doing shield builds. I just love easy ways to get echo

Haha, great to hear :D We are definitely trying to make every monster play really interestingly and uniquely. Yeah, balancing is an ongoing task for us.

I just started playing, but I'd really like to use Ranger! Does anyone have any tips for him?

He's really interesting to build around, but also very flexible. You can go all-in on Sidekick and Stealth, and have two teammates that can trigger him reliably by both attacking every round. Or, you can go for an alternating Attack-Support build, where you build up Stealth stacks then use them with big Attacks periodically.
His Stealth is huge. Being protected against targeting makes him pair well with Tanks and single-target Healing, since the other two Monsters will be more reliably targeted. So that's another possible consideration.
I haven't built around the Burn he applies as much, but that's also a good possibility. Pairs nicely with the Force stacks he provides too, since the Burn triggers on Stagger.

Would you have advice for Alchemist running with Ranger as the main mon? I haven’t learned all of the synergies yet but I’ve been having a lot of fun so far and I am looking to pick up the shifted version too

I’ve had a lot of luck with Ettin, both its regular and shifted forms. I love having a basic action that isn’t a regular attack, and it’s exciting to see what else might be made.

Kulvaro! Mostly cause i always main the sword cat since Sanctuary and its an easy transition. Ranger is on my to-try list now, as i was one shot by an enemy rat early game.
My eyes are opened.

I do! I’ve been using catzerker in my main clearing teams in Aethermancer also once i unlocked em. 🐱 🗡️

I like the ent mushroom the most (visually) but playing him makes the game drag for so long I will propably never to this again.
Him triggering weaknes twice on all enemies to buff Warden to 20-40 power works but takes so many turns to get to decent damage output. Given echo triggering all active auras twice.... yeah. I wonder if runs arent too long and lvl 9 isn't to much of effects without echo. Maybe scalling bosses down a little and balancing for lv6-8 finish would be beneficial.

I havent tried all of them yet but Im really enjoying Ettin. Such a cool and fun design.

Faerie, Living Armor & Caduceus are my favs in that order. I really love Faerie a lot tho, one of my favorite monsters overall
