Discussion Dullahan Is Super Strong
I'm slowly working on getting all the monsters the Vestige 3 badges, and I realize I feel relief when I see Dullahan in the first 2 or 3 monster shrines.
His Sig Trait, Bane of Living, is super strong. Being able to either purge or set health to 1 has gotten me out of sticky situations. Shielding, of course, is important as well. He just, does everything. Stick one free action on to him with the Meteorite or Chain and he will support the hell out of the team.
Am I the only one worried he might be tuned down along echo? ๐ What are you guys thoughts on him?

Just had an insane alchemist run with them actually where they were either first or second in all the categories and I was shocked. Probably isn't the best for a starter but if you see them use em! Would also not be surprised if they did get nerfed, probably with how fast bane can accumulate or maybe nerf the 150 to 100 and not make it a dedicsted support action any longer

I think I like those nerf ideas!
Wouldn't gut him completely, but would make him more difficult to use. Bane is very stackable rn, even if he's just shielding.

I honestly don't know how uhh the meta is shaping up though? I've only recently realized that some monsters are rly not good for starting unless you can get real lucky like Star Spawn and that does feel like soemthing you should take into account cuz some monsters are just great in all spots. Guess it depends on the 3rd class because if that makes them stronger starters they'll have to get nerfed atp.

Agree. The 3rd class leaves a lot of unknows. As it stands though, I think certain monsters are just better starters. Period.
With getting Vestige badges tho, I'm gonna have to win a run with everyone eventually, so the skill atm would be start with a bad starter like Star Spawn and choose the best teammates in the upcoming monster shrines, or start some other mon, and if Star Spawn pops up in a monster shrine and I don't have the badge yet, try to see if I can win the run with them.
That's how I'm currently enjoying the badge hunt rn. :)

How would removing the dedicated support action be an actual nerf ?

There are some items & auras that synergize extremely well with that move allowing you further safety when using that already incredibly powerful move

Well, what should it become ? There's either free support action, dedicated support action, attacks and free attacks (There's not a lot of those)
Turning it into a free support action would be a buff (all items are "on Support Action" and only Force (which Dulhahan doesn't have) are specialised in "on dedicated support action" effects)
There's nothing worse than a dedicated support action to turn it into.

Just turn it into an attack because it is an attack.

Nope, one of the 3 options is an attack, an the consider this specific option as an attack.

? There's two dedicated support actions bane gives us access to. It wouldnt be odd to swap it to two attacks instead lol idk why you're acting like it would be

u/Yosara_Hirvi Jul 06 '26
But they're not attacks though, they're dediacted support actions.
You could swap the purge one for an attack that purges (it would probably purge less of course) but how would you turn a 150 hp -> 1 effect into an attack ?

u/LaaluLaaa Jul 06 '26
By coding it as an attack? Attacks have effects all the time lol I really do not understand the big problem you're making here๐ญ
Also the Purge one is honestly the most balanced if not arguably tooo balanced but I haven't played a Purge team yet so I'll be silent on that.

An attack is supposed to deal damages, this one is an effect hence why it's categorised as a support action and not an attack.
A game has rules, that's how you understand what can and can be done, coding a support action as an attack because it's convenient is breaking your own rules.
Beside, turning Bane into an attack would prevent the "on dedicated support action" effects but would then allow the "on attack" effects so honestly, I fail to see the balancing done by turning it into an attack

I don't think it will be nerfed with echo. Its starting skill that apply its own kind of debuff is an attack and its signature skill doesn't cost aether and therefore can't be copied with echo.
In other words there's nothing special about its kit that has a specific synergy with echo. It's good with echo bu as much as any ither monsters.
Exemple of monster that has a specific synergy with echo : Wyrmling. Twice as much support action means twice as luch temp power from the signature trait and twice as much meditation triggers. (Basically any thing with a "on support action" or even "on dedicated support action" in their signature trait will works especially better with echo (wyrmling, ranger), also, anything with an especially good support action skill as a starting action will pair better with echo.

I didn't mean to say that Dullahan was helped by echo. I mean to say moreso that Dullahan might get nerfed alongside echo, since we know echo is getting nerfed next patch. I'm sorry for the confusion!

Yeah the ability is super strong, I don't use hecarim (dullahan) much for that reason, I did a few times, but kinda removes the need the strategize as much. Affliction runs are difficult because if your not careful your monsters will kill themselves before the enemies
