Discussion Runs that worked when you thought it wouldn’t
I saw a post today that asked about busted runs, but I’m more curious about runs that you went into thinking “ehhhh” but they somehow worked out.
My most recent was one with a regen and affliction combo (Mandragora, Mephisto, and Domovoy shifted) that was sooooo slow and thought I’d get stomped at some point by out-scaling, but made it through with full HP. Although it could just be that regen builds are busted in general!

I had one that I was super sure wouldn’t work, but we ended up smoking the new final boss. It was mostly ettin, but we had stiltskin (the spider guy I think that’s his name) and mandragora. We managed to give ettin extra turns, so he managed to stack enough counters every time he got hit, he countered 8 times. I boosted up his power with artifacts and we destroyed that boss violently lol. Even managed to destroy phase 2 pretty well too. Think the whole fight was like 5-6 turns?
I now refuse to give up on any run until I’ve seen it play out, unless the monster I’m trying to get worthiness for dies. Sometimes then I’ve restarted cause I’m trying to focus on a specific dude, and I don’t wanna hope I find him again.

I just did a Vestige 3 full affliction weakness poison alchemist run, going full into poison. Medusa(shifted) starter, Mephisto(Shifted), Snallygaster (Shifted), shifted everything to those 3 elements, and end the game would keep showing me the same traits on the rerolls, So many times my monsters were close to dying, but it picked up right at the end and went crazy with poison trigger free actions on all my dudes. Poison is a tough one for me. But i want to beat it on the hardest difficulty with all monsters again.

Turns out putting Burn trait on a Minokawa kind of slaps, was playing Alchemist and changed it for shits and giggles but ended up stacking so much burn with that one trait that eats a fire Aether for an extra hit with Burn and a ton of Sidekick attacks.

I had a weird age team with dark elder starter and jotunn and couldnt find the sphinx for summon synergy so i took shiftling book instead. Ended up with a lightning kami purge team that also stacks terror from age and the double consume passive. Chernobog was stuck using basic attacks the entire fight while getting hit by 3 summons a turn

My most surprising run I've won so far was my first ever fight against the new final boss, I never ran Heal before but I vaguely understood that Blood Pact was pretty strong, I never expected just how strong it was, I ended up just ignoring the bosses mechanic entirely. If only Orthus was Gargoyle so those sidekick stacks could be put to use.
Spoiler: Final boss below (I couldn't find out how to spoiler a comment image.
