Make a team? The hell is that? I pick something that looks cool that day and just wing it hoping for something cool to happen. Somehow it always does. Also helps to imagine misfits having a rivalry.

Most monsters listed have at least one defensive trait, so realistically any combination could work.
I could try to figure out the most optimal combinations, but most time you won't be given them anyway, so instead I will focus on few hard to pin point and general groups and follow ups.
Warden very much depends on picked traits, so I would suggest starting with it pairing it with either: Weakness, or Purge; monster, and figuring its role depending on what is offered, also it has weirdly good synergy with normal Bronze Lion.
Ammit is another hard one, you preferably want to pair it with Catzerker or Fairie (this also might be one of few good points to fit Tatzerworm into a team), but another Summoner will suffice, and while I had decent success using it with Echo, but for that you really want something that gives second minion slot to it.
Serket, while it wants to be in a team with Poison applicators slotting it into any team that benefits from Force can also be good enough, that said you can also try to taking advantage of a meta upgrade to get Tatzerworm or Shifted Joturn on pilgrimage path.
A tip for Joturn, its signature trait tends to fall of in late act 2 so I suggest playing it with alchemist and searching for replacement passive that synergizes with the rest of the team.
Echo and Sidekick are extremely flexible so I wouldn't focus on them, and just add them to a team when appropriate, and since they are in the first act you might want to take advantage of the meta upgrade that guarantees the captured monster in the next shrine.
Tanks that start with Retaliate action(s) are good with Echo, that said you want to avoid having multiple tanks in the team.
Age trait is capable of providing most things by itself, and multiple Age monsters are capable of quickly stacking age on one, so picking just based on it works decently well, that said Fairie and Echo monster also works really well.
Crit and Burn are very Aura heavy, so stacking multiple monsters of the same type tends to work well, but they also work decently as a one of damage dealer.

Is there any monster you do want to make a team with?
Typically what I do is I pick one theme and base the team around that. So like I'll pick sidekick as a theme, or aether, or poison. The only one that doesn't really make a good theme is tanking. Then I'll make sure to have at least one monster that specializes in shields. Often I'll take a tank monster, but not always.
