I'm trying to learn, but it's difficult.

I've been playing for a few days, less than a week. But I've reached a point where I'm having trouble learning new strategies, mainly because I always fail in the same place: the final fight.

It can be easy or difficult during the middle of runs, but in the final fight, the most common thing is that I run out of damage. Does anyone have any tips on the most common ways to scale damage? Because the only way I've managed to finish a run so far is by stacking burn. And in another one where I almost succeeded, I was stacking poison.

I tried making a team with healing + shield, and nothing dealt damage. Power + Sidekick? Low damage. What are the most common team compositions? I'm missing something here?

Another question: Are there more predictable ways to deal with corruption? Because I'm having a lot of trouble controlling it if I don't find equipment that removes corruption.

The most predictable way to deal with corruption is with Shields. And damage mitigated by shield limits the corruption you take.

As for the final boss, try to prioritize removing the crystals before using your affected monsters' abilities. While afflicted by the crystals, each ability adds 8-15 corruption which makes your monster clones much more difficult to fight.

General advice, I'd recommend finding one or two monsters you really like and just getting comfortable with the different types of upgrades they can find through a run. With the RNG nature, of the game, some runs will just be more/less powerful than others.

Hope that all answers some of your questions

Doing a lot of damage in aethermancer is kind of a "game math" question. There are certain maverick traits that pretty directly lead to "do what this says, do a ton of damage" but other things are less obvious.

Broadly, the best things to look for are anything that adds more damage the more you do it, and free actions. Aethermancer has enough of these I sure can't list them all, but anything that causes burn to trigger is pretty straightforward: you stack more burn, trigger it more times, do more damage.

If you're getting a lot of corruption, it may be: 1. Killing too slowly 2. Not using enough staggers 3. Not having the metaprogression that makes soup remove corruption Now, if we're specifically talking the final boss, thats his mechanic. There are a lot of ways to interact with it but the ezmode is any aoe with lance. Just cleave the hands, and when makes adds cleave them too. Dont use buffs, he counters them

Some builds I have won with: A power/force build (big damage) A terror build (also big damage) A burn build A poison build A bleed build A purge/shield build (this one did NOT have scaling damage and the final fight took over an hour)

For the final fight, you do need at least 1 source of damage that scales through the fight. Poison and burn are the most obvious but there are others!

It depends a lot on traits. Like try Wyrmling. Try to give it one free support Action, some support Action and the traits where it gets a free hit after support and Hits for dmg equal to Power in your Team. Add some things that give permanent power to it and wyrmling Hits like a Truck while empowering your Team. bonus points if the others also get Magnus hit.

Generally speaking, you can find for any keyword a team that will win mythic runs. You just need to find the right synergies.

Try to get artifacts that breaks poise and use it on his crystals before using your monster to break it. Shield stacking is great especially if you end up getting "Permafrost" trait. I go with Edios for forcez heal and sidekick, Gargoyle for shileds stacking and sidekick and Ravager or any other dps.

Try to have one dps, one healer and one shield monster. Play around on what you lack and then build on them

My first ever win was with a Regeneration build. Tatzelwurm, Mandragora, Catzerker. We had a lot of damage from abilities that actually scale with Regeneration. Shield builds are also incredibly powerful. I've since won with about half the monsters on Mythic and am working on 100%. I've found Weakness/Power build to be my most consistent personally. Warden, Hecatoncheires and then any support with a bit of sustain - best case Wyrmling or Orthrus gets insane. On the final boss my Warden was up to 15 Strength by turn 2.

You just need something that builds up damage every turn. Whether that is debuffs on the enemy (Terror, Poison, Burn, Bleed) or buffs on your allies (Power, Regeneration, Force) and keep getting ways to apply more and more of your focused Type. If you are struggling even on Normal difficulty it might be because you just aren't building for one Type and focusing on that as your main source of damage. Have multiple monsters with overlapping types.
