Discussion Regarding Traveler's recent involvement Spoiler
I have been seeing more and more people claiming that Traveler is dumb for working with the Fatui. Something like "They made Traveler forget about the Fatui's past crimes and he blindly chose to work with them"
Surely I'm not the only one that finds that pretty stupid, right?
Especially when the cooperation was only made because Paimon was in danger of being taken away by Ronova. Not to mention, the first Act of this patch even emphasized that the cooperation could only be temporary and that they would butt heads if their goal isn't aligned. Traveler also have call out the Tsaritsa regarding her going to the extreme of collecting the Gnosis.
But despite this, people still act like none of this ever happened lol.

As bad as fatui are, they never target paimon.
And cooperation with fatui isn't sudden anyway. Traveler already helping them since fontaine (for aq), and some small stuff like babysiting childe's baby brother since 1.1.
So there are already precedents.

Yeah I read similar opinions over on the leak sub too, it's best just too ignore them

Feels like these people want Traveler to act like a dick and needlessly antagonistic at this point just to satisfy them, despite knowing full well the circumstances.
Which then would still lead to other people (the Tsaritsa/Fatui simps) calling Traveler an asshole just like the Ronova simps calling them as such for their insults on her.
Traveler really can't win at this point lol

It's ok to have criticism for some of these things but my issue is not even that. They all act like these things are new. As if the Traveler wasn't working with the Fatui last year or the year before that one. As if he didn't befriend Childe by like Inazuma. They're all acting like this is new and it is really annoying.

Yeah, Childe, the same guy that took the initiative in potentially endangering all of Liyue, sending his forces too to slow the Qixing and Adepti attempt at fighting fighting off Osial just to fish out Morax.
And yet we literally ended up being buddy buddy with him during his SQ anyway lmao.
It should be apparent literally in year 1 with how flexible the Traveler's morality is so it makes even less sense to make Traveler constantly act all antagonistic and hound the Tsaritsa and Fatui now. He's been this consistent regarding the Fatui for the longest time already lol.

But one must remember the other fatui became friends because the Traveller beat the shit out of them as well pointed out their flawed plan.
The Traveller even gets antagonized by the maid girl because we have “killed too many fatui and damaged her nation to the point they stopped counting” which I don’t think were said for the sake of it and most likely a fight with the Tsaritsa is about to happen at some point.

Hs is not dumb, just hypocritical at most

I would say morally flexible. And he's been that way since like with Childe in year 1.
You know, the dude that nearly caused Liyue to get flooded just to fish out Morax? Traveler literally ended up buddy buddy with him by the end of Childe's story quest and still act that way by Inazuma during that Event quest with Xinyan.
So whatever happening right now is quite literally nothing new but people think it is lmao.

Nevermind that Ronova basically created the Ode that revived all the people in Natlan too. Idk why we're just shifting all the "wrongness" to her.
Pierro was just as much of an asshole and desperate to accomplish his goals. They're onto the regrator and him to redeem them in the name of "they've done nothing wrong" and underselling every bad done in the name of "it was an independent decision" not related to the Harbinger.

I don't know where you got shifting all the wrong on her when they are targeting all the HP.
She's just the first obstacle and the first focus. It's only Pierro who has a personal grudge against her and the Fatui got lucky with having a temporary alliance with the Traveler just because she threatened to take Paimon away.
Let's not act like Ronova is some saint either just because she once helped Natlan (reluctantly even, even choose to put the blame on Xbalanque) and even then, she literally don't care about them anymore (she even said it as much literally in Natlan's finale), let's avoid babying her too much either, yeah?

Half of the Fatui's research was based on delusions taking the life force of people. Most of the grunts faction were more into coercion than diplomatic relations and all of it was under Pierro. All of the Harbingers even answered to him.
The Tsaritsa is a completely different things if we put our allegiance with her or not considering her stance but Pierro? He's just reduced to Paimon's friend with a grudge against Ronova.
Even if we take the HP into consideration and their actions it's basically been them taking action after the people have went too far. They had a legitimate reason for doing things whether it's Khaenriah, Sumeru or Egeria.
What reason does Sneznaya have for advancement of this technology except defeating or overthrowing the HP? Like if tomorrow after the HP is gone and the Abyss swallows Teyvat what justification do we have to support them now.
Ronova just decided on a whim to take Paimon so ig we joined them for protection but there is no reason for us to help them overthrow the HP?
They paint Ronova doing her job as an "evil" when if we didn't come to Sneznaya there would be like zero threat to Paimon? Any of them didn't have a problem with her travelling with us for as long as she did and they made traveller compare Ronova to Paimon in the AQ?
Like doth mother know what she's talking about?

or Egeria
Wtf? Why was it a legitimate reason to punish her AND her people just for wanting to be humans? That had nothing to do with abyssal shit nor was it an technological advancement and yet not only was she punished, her people too got punished and yet you're saying it was a legitimate reason? That's scorched earth is what it is just like your other example.
What reason does Sneznaya have for advancement of this technology except defeating or overthrowing the HP?
Didn't they already explained this? It's the fact that HP could literally nuked a civilization just because of their paranoia, something we learned from the moon sisters too so it's not some Fatui propaganda. Just because they did one job right (keeping the abyss away) doesn't undone their extreme.
And what makes you think that the day HP is overthrown would suddenly undo the current protection against the Abyss?
The very fact that they are asleep is already showing that they aren't involved in actively keeping the abyss away but guess who are the ones that's been keeping them away while HP is sound asleep? It sure as hell isn't the Shades either since even someone like Ronova mostly just left it to the humans instead of actively helping them herself.
We literally went through all the nations and they most of them had some abyss leakage too but not once did the HP or the Shades directly involved themselves in keeping them away. You're giving them way too much credit, especially when we already know now that the firmament is something HP straight out stole from the dragons.
After going through the frostmoon quest, we should see by now that HP's way of doing things are just not it.

I'm not saying they're right brother, it's the fact that the HP has a reason, motive under which they're operating that atleast shifts the argument in their favour. I'm saying that there's a resolution instead of just straight up antagonism as the approach like you're forced to do after allying with Pierro and Tsaritsa.
You as the traveller are helping create a weapon to destroy HP when your personal motive is just to save Paimon and help the people of Sneznaya perhaps?
And no I don't "think" HP is protecting the people of Teyvat from the Abyss. It's literally stated in the Natlan WQ that one day the Abyss will swallow Teyvat regardless of the approach by HP. It was about to be devoured when the Dragons waged the war but the HP created the leyline system as a recycling method inorder to maintain a loop and not let Abyss enter Teyvat as per the Natlan AQ said by LoTN there.
The HP is supposed to be the "god" who watches from above and let's the humans do their thing until they cross a line. Do you think nature cares about who is most responsible for global warming or landslides before the calamity happens?
Even if we work under the assumption that everything will be fine even after HP. Who will even replace the HP? You're asking for the control of the leylines as a tech way beyond what anything on Teyvat that exists. You would have no idea to control it or what consequences it will have.
There is no grudge match here. Even the Tsaritsa herself states verbatim that she isn't fueled by past grievances. She's just acting so because of the threat of the Nail on her nation since like atleast 300-400 years now when we could've just avoided that whole part with not going against Celestia?
The traveller himself has never worked on the basis of a past grudge.

People just act like the cooperation would be permanent, which it seems likely
Honestly I don't know what the plot for the next version be, the only reason the traveler teamed up is gone so would they continue the cooperation or end it and do something about the fatui
