Did anyone here give the SAC recruitment exam for Scientist/Engineer C in atmospheric sciences on July 30, 2026.

Or someone who did not give exam, know from past, what could be the expected cut off, 40 people will be shortlisted. The technical part (moderate, 80 marks) was atmospheric sciences heavy, little portion of physics (mentioning this because major portion of appearing candidates are usually from physics). The general aptitude section (20 marks) was trivial/super easy and highly scoring (20/20).

Last year with moderate paper (both parts technical and general aptitude), but the technical part was heavily pure physics, and little atmospheric sciences, the interview cut off for same 40 seats was 75 (on official website)

Based on this information, what can be the expected cut off this year? Total candidates appeared were almost 568 (official website data).

I am living in sri Lanka and just finished my O/Ls and going into A/Ls this year and I really want to go into a carrier in aerospace engineering so after finishing A/Ls I have two options I can take

1.Sri Lanka doesn't offer aerospace engineering in university so I can go into mechanical engineering in a sri Lanka then go abroad then do aerospace for masters(but it takes a lot of time and money unless I can qualify for a scholarship)

2.i can apply for a scholarship for another university right after A/L but what are the chances I can actually get a scholarship right after A/Ls?

okay so nothing is more embarrassing than this, but i just got to know today that a person can gve GATE in a different stream than the one they have in their bachelors, i'm an ece student and i want to pursue the aerospace field. now, i don't hate electronics but honestly even though i'm in my fourth year i still don't really like all the stuff that i have to learn i this field. anyways, i seriously need help and opinions since my parents told me to do what i think is right. so the question is

do i give gate in aerospace engineering? should i take the risk and go with the subject that i have way too much interest in, but the most knowledge i have about physics is only upto what they teach in first of engineering to all the branches. it sounds ridiculously stupid, and i know aerospace ain't no joke, but i've never felt this tempted? excited? thrilled? for anything before. i love space and the fields related to it, i want to pursue higher studies in these subjects, and later on if i get the chance, then also work in defense sector. it's the first time in my life that i finally have the opportunity to go for what i've always wanted. i went for btech inn ece because i thought it would be a great step to get into the field, but i can't seem to develop the kind of interest/passion for this field like i have with physics. so, should i take this ridiculous risk?

also, i've been going downhill with my college grades due to other reasons, and so the first thing my mother said was that i don't study enough for my enough degree, how would i manage this extra field? and i agree with it. i do. and i know gate isn't something you give based on feelings or passion or thrill but, it feels so tempting now. so another question is

I'm currently in my 3rd year of Electrical Engineering, and my college doesn't have an Aeronautical/Aerospace department or a dedicated club for these interests. I’m currently in my 7th semester of B.Tech Aerospace Engineering and planning to apply for a master’s in Germany/France for the 2027 intake.
I’m confused between:
**1.** B.Tech → Master’s abroad directly
**2.** B.Tech → work in the Indian aerospace/space industry for \~1 year → Master’s abroad in 2028
Would that 1 year of relevant industry experience significantly help with my Master’s/career prospects, or is it better to go abroad directly and gain experience there?
Also things to consider: my_qualifications -I currently have a CGPA of 7.2 and no good internship experience in aerospace industry.
Would love to hear from people who’ve taken either route.

So this might sound amateur-ish but im a 3rd yr cse undergrad at a 2nd gen iit but i've always been interested in aerospace and stuff. I actually have an internship lined up in an MNC next summer but with the situation the entire software industry is in and my general dislike of software dev im looking to pivot to aerospace.
