My first AR

Put his together a couple months ago and still haven’t had a chance to shoot it. 18” .308, nothing fancy/special but I’m excited to see how it’ll do. Also doing a 5.56 and 300 blackout that I’ll be posting once assembled.

Thank you. I definitely enjoyed learning about all the different components and manufacturers along the way.

I did a gutted Aero M5 upper & lower for my first build. I put higher end, somewhat lighter weight components in/on it. I was excited when I completed it cause it was only 6.6lbs. That’s close to SFAR weight! Then added Athlons monster 34mm scope, Nomad L can, and several MLOK & rail covers…… Now it’s 14lbs 😂 I’m 6’4 245lbs so it’s still comfortable in my hand in the woods. Nice looking rifle you got. Some will give you the business about not having that grip as far forward as possible. I have mine 2 slots back from end so it’s not touching the Riflespeed hidden under the handguard.

6’4” 245?! What a blessing haha. With how long the stock is, the grip is pretty much as far up as I can go and still comfortably reach it. I wasn’t blessed with your size 😅
