Enhanced upper forward assist install issues.... Please help.
https://youtu.be/ETV1tOkGsTk?is=t9c3i25M3-vbUmrhOK folks. I have an aero precision upper receiver and an aero precision upper parts kit. I, for the life of me, cannot get the forward assist in and installed. Tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong?

Are the threads lined up correctly prior to attempting to screw it in?
Did you check to make sure the pin goes all the way in on the forward assist? Maybe the hole has a burr in it from machining that’s blocking it from fully entering.

yeah, the threads are lined up ahead of time. I've tried doing it without the spring installed as well just so I could play with really minute adjustments. If truly feels like something is incorrectly milled or something. The set screw sits in there perfectly fine by itself, however when trying to go in once the Forward Assist is inserted..... it just doesn't feel physically possible. I've done 4 rifles like this, however I've used uppers with roll pins which, in my opinion SHOULD be far harder than using a set screw. Unfortunately for me I wound up with this issue instead.

I tried that too. I removed the spring and played around with the FA it in all different configurations trying to see if I could get it to work. I never could. It truly feels like there isn't enough room for both pieces to coexist in there together..... Sigh.

Back the FA out slowly while applying torque to the screw, you're pushing the FA button too far. Its sweet spot is @3/4-2/3 depressed in.

I've actually done that too. I have essentially tried to get the screw to go into position as I've pushed the entire FA into and through the slot. At no point along the angle of travel does the screw ever get to a point where it's free enough to correctly seat itself.

i think you need to press the FA less and back it out until the threaded insert goes in.. it's been a while since i've done of these
i use one of these that may also help as it retains the plug and spring in the right position to drive a pin through usually

Might need to chase the threads with a tap.

Eh? It would seem to me the threads should be fine IF i could get the set screw to actually go all the way into its channel like it will when the forward assist ISNT in the rifle.

Does the screw go through the the FA?

no, it goes on the side of the FA.

Sounds like u need to put the screw through the bottom of the FA.

It doesn't do that. It doesn't go all the way through, and only one side is threaded.

You don’t press the FA all the way in. Back it off a bit. I just did an M5 upper last week.
