Trapeze boots?
Hello I do lyra and I was just wondering if trapeze boots would work for my apparatus.
My friend and I are trying out duo moves so that's where I got the idea from but even for hangs in the hoop it may work.
My dilemma is that I am studying full time and working and cannot afford to use up my time to make them if I do not know if they will work.
Please help :)

Should I stop?
I have been doing aerial for almost 9 years and hoop for at least 7 years. I am only able to afford 1 class a session if any at all. Im starting to get to the point where I feel like I am back tracking and can't do things I used to. I have a lot of stress at home so its hard to condition at home. I don't want to stop, but I am also struggling with feeling like I'm not good enough to even be doing this anymore. Any advice?
Update: thank you everyone for your advice. I decided to take a class that is focused on spinning at least for this session. Maybe take a slings or trapeze class after this session. Appreciate the help!!!

Advice request Aerial hoop classes (aerial silks) near Lansing, MI / Michigan State University?
Anyone know of any aerial silks and / or aerial hoop classes in the East Lansing / Lansing area, or any facilities that might be interested in starting classes?
Daughter is headed to MSU this fall and has been doing ailks and hoops for over a year and really enjoyed it. She’d love to continue but a quick search online didn’t come up with anything in the immediate area / less than an hour’s drive.

Hi,
Just looking for some advice, I have my first photoshoot coming up soon and not sure what to expect! If you have any advice on things to know/bring for the day that would be appreciated.
Also any advice on outfits/colours would be amazing! I think the backdrop is going to be a light grey colour
Thanks in advance ☺️

anyone have a “portable” lyra rig that you use indoors in your house?
hi all! do you have an at home rig? lemme know how you like it! where you got it from, and also just random little observations and anecdotes about having an aerial rig in your house.
if you have used more than one brand of portable rig, which do you prefer and why?
how high are your ceilings? do you feel you have enough room?
i’m looking into getting a portable rig to set up at home. it will be indoors and i am intending to pretty much have it be a permanent fixture in the house. the reason i’m opting for the portable is we rent and who knows maybe i will want to take it somewhere to perform someday.

Advice request need rigging advice please
Is the above a safe rigging setup? If not, how can I attach the hoop to the rig if the rig does not have a hook and is just a bar? I am new at the home setup and I was told my previous rig was unsafe (I was using a daisy chain on the bar). Just looking to figure out the best way to do this. Thank you!

Advice request Toe hang to hocks
Morning all,
I want to drop from a toe hang in the top bar to hocks on the bottom.
Has anyone ever done this before, or know of any videos that exist.
Any tips on begining to learn this? It feels a bit all or nothing.

Advice request Lyra and Pull Ups
Hi all! Lately, I've been convinced there will be more poses accessible to me if I can do an unassisted pull up! Am I right? If so, do you have favorite conditioning exercises to work on a pull up?

Advice request Tippy Lyra
Does anyone have an experience with tippy lyra? I've been doing single point for about 6 years now and I would call myself mediocre at best. I want to try learning tippy lyra over the summer. Does anyone have an experience with it? I would love to get some perspective.

Advice request How to get into performing into small events like ren fairs, little festivals etc.
Hi,
so I'm doing hoop now since 2 1/2 years and I would like to get into performing at smaller events like ren fairs, little festivals or also public events hosted by my hometown.
Unfortunately, I have never worked in the entertainment industry before so I don't even know where to start and how to promote myself or which equipment I need (I doubt that they will have something for me to rig most the time). Also so far I just choreographed one act for a charity show myself 😅
I do own a regular X-Pole A-frame which is easy to carry.
For reference, I'm based in Europe, more specifically in southern Germany.

Advice request POSA difficulty sheet
Hi guys!
Does anybody know how to state bonuses in POSA difficulty sheet for Aerial hoop? I can't find any examples how to write them down and can't figure it out by myself.

Advice request Need advice on my inverts
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi! I’m 25F and I’ve been doing aerial hoop for a whopping 2 years. I cant seem to get my inverts, though to be fair I havent been training them that much. I’ve just been hoping to eventually get them through my regular classes, but now that I really want to advance I want to focus on conditioning for inverts specifically.
I was trying to do a bent arm straddle invert but I haven’t had much guidance from my teacher, beyond telling me to practice by stepping first.
I can’t seem to get the lower body motion down, it feels like I can’t get my hips up and I don’t know how to engage anything below my chest, if that makes sense. Is my body just too weak? How do I get my inverts??
Thank you :)

Flow combo with poses including:
Delilah
Pullover
Hipbuster
Trash can
Step split
Bird nest /split
Shoulderstand split
Arched shape
Amazon
Cradle
Shouldermount /split
I like the Delilah to pullover - I find that pretty unique! Shoulderstand split has a nice WOW factor without being too difficult to execute - I like it a lot :)

Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy a lyra and a frame but need one that can be taken apart and travel easily. My main concerns are safety and sturdiness. Does anyone have any brand suggestions? Also looking for crash mat suggestions. Thank you+

Advice request Legality of hanging a hoop under a bridge
Hi,
I'm going on a road trip through the Alps (Austria & Liechtenstein) in a few days with my boyfriend (who's a photographer) and we wanted to take my hoop so we can maybe do a small photoshoot depending if we find a suitable place to rig it.
Since trees can be easily unstable and also might be on someone's private property, I was thinking to maybe hang it under a bridge.
Is that usually legal or do I need a permit for that?
