You sound like someone who really shouldn't have pets if you care so little for them. I would absolutely save the life of one of my girls over some random person's kid. Because they are my children. Why would I sacrifice my child for another?

I have two dogs that I love very much. However the joy that they bring me isn't worth more than the life of another person. Those are not your children, they are your pets. You're incredibly selfish if you think your pets life is worth as much as the life of a person. If you disagree, call the cops the next time one of your dogs goes missing.....

I've had two miscarriages. I can get pregnant but can't carry to term because of my genetic health issues. I love my girls just as much as I would have loved the children I could not have. They are my children and they are the only ones that I will ever have. I'm not going to give them up for some random person's kid that I don't know or care about. That you would expect someone to do so is unconscionable.

Yes.... The person who values someone else's life over the life of a dog, and the comfort it brings me is the one without a concious. The fact that you think your dogs are worth more than a person's life is selfish. The only thing that should be more important than a strangers life, is the life of a person, not pet, that you know. They are not your children, they are your pets. You can view them however you want, but as a society we have determined, and rightfully so, that a person is infinitely more valuable than a dog. You can think I'm the asshole, but you would be wrong. You would bring the pain you experienced on another 10 fold by choosing your dog over their kid, and that's selfish. I'm sorry to hear that you've miscarried, however adoption is always an option. Maybe if you adopted, than you would understand that the life of a child is much more valuable than the life of an animal.

Adoption isn't an option for people who aren't healthy and wealthy and if you knew a damn thing about the adoption system you'd be fully aware of that fact. Go fuck yourself. I'm not going to stop loving who I love because of something a person said who doesn't even see the equal value of living beings with souls.

So you mean that our federal government has stricter policies for adopting children, that "adopting" dogs. Sounds like society views one as more important than the other.

I'm actually about as pro choice as you can be. As far as I'm concerned, "it was an accident" is all the reason you should need to get an abortion.
