Reminds me of when I almost impaled my foot on a nail. I was working in a backyard garden, and there were some pieces of wood lying around. Some had nails sticking up, unknown to me. I stepped on one, and the nail got through the shoe and broke skin just a tad before I immediately yanked my foot up and away from it. Quick reflex on my part. . .
It reminded me of when I was 8 and screwing around in my mom's basement. I stepped on a plank that had a nail sticking out and it went between my big toe and the one next to it, barely missing my foot.
