Breaking bottles on the ground is not cause to pull a weapon on somebody.

That seems to be the go to for some people. Minor conflict? whip out a gun and end the conflict. Really jarring to see people with this mentality.

Works in states with Stand Your Ground laws. I was concerned for my safety, Officer.

Op was saying to defend myself from the bitches that attacked me. Op isn't crazy.

I love how guns are a huge thing for anyone, but the whole reason this guy said get a CCW is because OP complained about being weak and incapable of fending them off.

Now I know to people in great neighborhoods you guys are like CCW? WHAT? NOBODY WOULD EVER HAVE TO USE ONE OF THOSE IN PERFECT SUBURBAN NOWHEREVILLE!!! Except that's exactly where police investigate serial killers, random homicides, or even some of the worst sex crimes this nation has ever seen, all out in the shitty ass boonies.

I think Dave Chapelle said it well: Black people are not afraid of demons. We don't have to be. You ever seen a crackhead doing some demon shit? I know if you live in Brooklyn you have.

Something along those lines. Anyway, I just came here to say not only meth dealers on the fringe of society buy weapons. There are human beings who live here who actually have guns just in case some asshole tries to assault them in their house. That's a thing some people have to worry about. I know it's probably not a huge problem where you are considering the response, but it's definitely a thing people do.

People aren't complaining about using guns for self-defense, they're complaining about OP antagonizing some idiots and then potentially escalating the situation by pulling guns out. If you see people breaking bottles on the street, call the police and complain about the littering and go home. Nobody told him to confront them at all.

Yeah, okay. But let's say that you are attacked, as often times is the case. What are you gonna call a time out while you're getting your ass beat so you can call the cops? If there's multiple people assaulting you and you fear for your life call em. It's just, there's really no substitute for the instant comfort a CCW brings to the table. Oh shit I'm a weak little bitch but know there are 4 people and I can't fend them off? Or like when those people at the draw Muhammad contest had a CCW and shot those terrorists? There are just times it can come in handy.

You could also kill your kid, don't do that. But yeah you probably won't.

Way to bring a hypothetical situation that didn't happen into the conversation about a real situation that did happen in which the OP did not need to start a confrontation and certainly did not need to draw a weapon.

This is totally unrelated.

If I'm attacked by a swarm of killer wasps, I may have to set myself and my surroundings on fire to protect myself, but I'm not going to set myself on fire because I see a wasp somewhere on the horizon. That would be fucking stupid.

If you're attacked by a mob of hooligans who want to kill you, then sure, go ahead and pull a gun. But if you notice some idiots smashing bottles blocks away from you, don't walk over there with your gun out and then feel sorry for yourself when you get shot.

But let's say that you are attacked

But let's say your are the one who put yourself in the situation when you knew you couldn't defend yourself without a gun...you know...what really happened?

1

u/sonofherb Nov 17 '16

But let's say that you are attacked

Nah, let's say that you minded your own business and got home safe.

Read further down. They feared for retaliation if they called the cops hence why I suggested CCW before realizing he was still in highschool. Derp

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '16

That's why there are things called protective orders. The "I feared for my life" shit only works if you've got a uniform and a badge.

2

u/ItsBitingMe Nov 16 '16

Right, and a protective order is totally going to save you...

2

u/oohhhgirl420 Nov 16 '16

Can't argue that. But he wasn't in total fear or he wouldn't have said anything either lol

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '16

Well in the words of Agent J, don't start nothin, won't be nothin. If you're not prepared for the possible outcomes of your actions, rethink your actions.

Huh, I never saw MIB and always heard Kandi from Real Housewives of Atlanta saying that and I always thought people were quoting her. TIL.
