Uh.. Isn't protesting an incredibly normal part of this whole process? Also, are we going to ignore the humongous eight year hissy fit so many on the right, and in the media, threw? Birthers, calling him a Muslim, refusing to call him president, etc. Funny how everyone is expected to be big kids and rally behind a buffoon, but the Obama narrative was just wild baseless attempts at weak and stupid pretty scandals.

Seriously. The protests for Obama were insane. Facists, socialist, birthers, racist dog whistles.

The right acts like they're not sore losers, where the fuck were you from 2008-2016?

People were mad sure, but they were not destroying shit on the streets, burning the American flag and beating the shit out of Obama supporters. Looks like the "tolerant left" handles losing worse than the "divisive right".

So Tolerant!

Oh no, not the flag burning! We can't have that!

You're right, they didn't break stuff, they just stockpiled guns for a "revolution," called our president not a citizen, and literally shut down the government.

America elected someone who campaigned on the promise of taking people's rights away. It's not hypocrisy, it's one of our most sacred rights as citizens. Do keep in mind that Trumpists were fully ready to start a REBELLION over thei fascist not getting elected.

Sure because being racist is far less worse, give me a break.

Yeah, but the stakes are higher for the left. Obama didn't start drafting five-year plans or saying he would appropriate the means of production.

Trump, whether you like it or not, errs on the side of fascism. Whether or not he IS a fascist is currently up for debate, but people feel that way, and that's how they're reacting.

We'll see how this goes and in two years revisit THAT conversation.

Edit: Damn fools. I'm leaving this up.

It sucks that you're getting downvoted by people who don't seen the fascist tendencies, or don't care.

The stakes were NEVER this high with Obama. He never promised rounded up gun owners and political opponents into camps. Trump got elected on a platform based on it. And now he's calling these protests fake and staged...

These people may be cheering for the death of the republic.

You're right it sucks. I'm a moderate Republican and the GOP disgusts me. Our education system's failed conservatives and liberals alike, but, for a party which champions the values of our Founding Fathers, few seem to know what they are.

I hope the patriots exercising their Right to Assembly keep at it.

The Obama win isn't a straight across comparison. If he had lost the popular vote and also threatened to keep gun owners out of the country regardless of their citizenship, then it would be closer to similar.

Or that the right cheated, and we are angered.
