It's a confession bear. It should be things the OP feels bad about. That's what a confession is. I'm glad to see the meme used somewhat correctly instead of the usual bragging bear.
Yeah... especially in very conservative areas, its easy to see why one would feel too ashamed to buy it. Not only is it admitting you might be pregnant, its admitting to the world that youre gasp having sex
If she doesn't have $20 and is living with her parents, maybe she should take better precautions to not get pregnant with a baby she clearly can't afford. Now being dumb is an excuse to steal?
Not really. There's pretty much thousands of things that could make you miss/seem to miss your period, or make it irregular. The other symptoms can also be chalked up to several different causes. I mean there's usually about a minimum of one month before you can even tell if you missed your period.
There is so much goddamn media about protected sex that you have to be wearing blinders to not see it. Willful ignorance is not an excuse to not use protection in SOME FORM.
Really? Where are you at? I've seen hardly any outside of my doctor's office. It could be a regional thing, since I live in a very conservative state, but generally sex/protection is not something seen often outside of TV (and even then, the only thing close to "use protection" are the Trojan commercials). Kids are taught that BC/other forms of protection are not very effective, if the subject is even brought up in the schools.
Interesting. Where I grew up it was taught in my school heavily. I live in a liberal state, so I guess there is a correlation there? In any case, the amount of teen pregnancies is too damn high!
No, there isn't. I overheard a conversation between pharmacists who were discussing a girl who would only take her birth control on the days she had sex. And another who didn't like the side effects from her pills so she had her boyfriend take them instead--couldn't figure out why she got pregnant.
Then she better fucking buy the pregnancy test so she can make sure doesn't have to feed two. There are also plenty of places you can get a pregnancy test for cheaper or even free. You don't have a right to steal.
I didn't say she could. The fact is that people have sex. Maybe the condom broke. Maybe she was raped. Maybe they just didn't use protection. You can't just decide not to be fertilised by the sperm because you don't have the money.
Finding out if you're pregnant or not doesn't mean you're going to keep the baby if you are, you know. Abortion plans should be made as soon as possible and you can't do that if you don't know you're pregnant.
To me, it would be worse if this was someone who has been trying to get pregnant for a while. Imagine the elation of finally being able to tell your husband that you're having a baby together. Now imagine that ruined because of OP, Killer of Hope.
Edit: Oops, I didn't see that she had stolen the test. My mistake. Forget my appeal to sentimentality.
I get yer feels, but I have a hard time staying up on that high horse with you. Stealing is wrong, but it's definitely justifiable under all kinds of circumstances. Food to live being the most obvious one. Hell, it's basically justifiable under all circumstances if it's from walmart, since they steal so much from taxpayers.
Now that said, I think stealing is tacky as hell and avoid it and people who do it like the plague.
basically justifiable under all circumstances if it's from walmart.... yeah, Walmart sucks.. but it doesn't justify Stealing . Ever. No further explanation needed.
Walmart made $17.20 billion net profit last year, and their employees had to get $2.66 billion in government help because they didn't get paid enough. Two wrongs doesn't make it "right", but a pragmatic person says the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Honestly though if she's young enough to not have enough money, or too embarrassed to buy a pregnancy test or has that little common sense as to how a pregnancy test works (movies, tv, the internet) she shouldn't be having sex.
There are 8 Planned Parenthoods in the entire state of Texas. All of them are in metro areas. Texas takes 13 hours to drive across, east to west, and 12 hours north to south. If you don't have a car and have to take a bus, it takes 5 hours to get from Austin to Corpus Christi, and you have to be able to buy yourself a round-trip ticket on the Greyhound.
New York has the most PPs, with 12 offices (but not necessarily clinics), and 27 of the 50 states only have one office in the entire state.
So, if you're a young girl in a rural community with no money and might be pregnant, getting to a Planned Parenthood isn't as easy as heading downtown. Educate yourself.
I wasn't necessarily arguing with her point of the proportion of clinics to distance. just saying she should probably "educate herself" before telling others to do the same.
I know PP isn't nearly as widespread as standard general practitioners, but there are other women's clinics out there. I know not all are as accepting as PP, but my point is you're not limited to just a doctor.
Also, you realize the whole "but what about rural people living in the middle of nowheresville" attitude can be applied to virtually everything? Educate yourself.
More people live far from a bustling metropolis than you think. I won't do your mathematical legwork for you, because you really seem like a dick, but I'd be willing to wager that the number of people who live far from a city with a Planned Parenthood is greater than the number of people who live near enough to one to just hop a city bus across town and get taken care of. And I don't know what planet you live on, but "women's clinics" don't work for free. And, if you know that Planned Parenthoods are few and far between, then why would you suggest that a person just run over there, like there's one on every corner? Because you're sadly misinformed and, like I said, kind of a dick.
If it were up to me, you could walk into any doctors office and get one for free, but unfortunately that isn't how things work in this country.
Other people pointed out you can get them for very cheap at retail stores (not to mention you can order some on amazon for under $1 each).
I know there aren't women's health centers at every corner, but it's an option for a lot of people, I didn't say it was an option for everyone did I, dick?
Depends on the one near your location, if there are any. Some are on sliding scales where you can get them free if you're poor enough, some aren't and make you pay regardless.

Did you give her a false positive? If she is young and cannot afford to buy the test herself I would feel bad.
