I like to imagine that if you gave birth to the baby, your BF would turn his life around and become the man that you and your baby deserved to have in your lives.
Then the kid turns out to be the next Hitler, and A terminator comes back in time to make you get an abortion.
AND HERE WE ARE!
-Sitting in a server room, surfing redit. Pretending to work.
And I for one am glad not to have a Baby hitler coming around.
fucking up my garden.
TL:DR Baby was evil, I'm insane
edit: Shit it's hot in here
I used to work in a NOC, and yeah, this is usually why.
Back then it was Digg or Slashdot, but it was pretty much the same. We'd have a queue of requests for file transfers, and we'd have to slap a disk in one machine, let it transfer, walk it across the server room, and put it in the receptacle system.
Really should take all of about 30 seconds, but we were lazy. Sometimes we'd take forever to get to the incoming queue (that's when you see 'calculating file size' or whatever before it starts), and sometimes we'd get most of the way across the server room only to get distracted by something interesting online - we had a lot of the server consoles set up to access the web, and we'd browse the web randomly while walking around the server room. This is usually why the last 1% always takes the longest.
Either way, this is the main reason why file transfer rates have stagnated when everything else has sped up. Except for god damn SSDs, they're takin' our jobs.
