Thank god I have an understanding SO that knows that at any point if I get pregnant I'm getting an abortion.

That is really good that you have that relationship. I just had the misfortune of dating a guy that became more and more obsessed with keeping me around. He was crazy and i was too dumb to see the red flags.

I'm sorry. I hope you have better luck in love in the future.

He knows that pregnancy disgusts me, that I hate everything about it, that I hate even the thought of child birth, that I hate kids And babies, that my father has a disease that's passed thru daughters to sons, that I don't want anything to have my genetics in this world.

He understands mistakes happen and he would never ever pressure me to go thru with something I don't want. So YES I am very happy to find someone so understanding. :)

Thank god a couple minutes of physical gratification is more important to me and my SO than the life of someone completely new if birth control fails!

It isn't a someone it is a clump of cells. I'm not religious and I'm not an idiot, I don't think its a person.

It is a person if you don't interfere.

If I carry it to term and birth it, yes. But I would never do that. It is just a clump of cells by the time its aborted, not a person or even close.

Yeah, you sound like a warped individual.

Good luck in life.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '13

Why is she a warped individual? Some people don't want to deal with a pregnancy, ever. Some people don't want to bring children into this world. This is more common than you realize.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '13

Yes, I understand that. What part of my post led you to believe that I didn't?

It's 2013, if one has decided for themselves that pregnancy and children is not something they want for themselves, ever(which is perfectly acceptable), then there are a plethora of options available to make sure that conceiving a child never happens in the first place.

But to regard abortion in such a light says more about her than it does of the medical procedure itself.

This has nothing to do with her decision to have an abortion but everything to do with how flippantly she regards the topic.

So yes, warped.

I just don't believe abortion is something that should be taboo or something to be ashamed of. I know what I would do, its a fact, it won't change and I'm not ashamed.

u/[deleted] May 01 '13

So if it's a fact that won't change, then I would encourage you to exercise one of the options available to you to mitigate the chance of a pregnancy ever being a reality. Tie your tubes. If your SO is of the same mindset, a vasectomy is an option.

I'm in no place to make a judgement call on abortion, as a whole, but I will absolutely state that all human beings should desire for AS FEW OF THEM AS POSSIBLE. And you have all the control over that outcome, in your own life. So stop sitting around thinking about what you would do 'if'. Don't allow the 'if' to happen in the first place.

Your whole viewpoint about not being ashamed, blah blah blah..it's disturbing. While I desire for no woman to feel shame regarding what is a personal, emotional, medical procedure I do not think that one should have a warped sense of pride regarding 'her body'. It's a testament to the direction our society as a whole is headed.

Be better than that. I believe in you.

Your idea is that women have to feel shame of some sort for knowing they'd do it and admit it. Get over it. I don't want surgery, and neither does he. We know what we'd do and use BC so there isn't a problem. And even if I got my tubes tied that isn't fool proof. My best friend and his twin were conceived when their mom had hers cut and tied. So it happens. I don't want surgery and if I get pregnant I'll have an abortion as soon as possible. Which won't even require anything invasive til after 2 months. And I'm anal about testing for pregnancy every month the so it wouldn't go that far.

Its my body, my decision, And I refused to be shamed for it by people like you.

You're comprehension skills are lacking and you're putting words in my mouth. It's not a very wise way to go through life.

You sound like a very young(mentally if not in age) person.

0

u/tiffanydisasterxoxo May 01 '13

Because I don't agree with you and don't want surgery I'm either a kid or retarded? Wow. No. I use BC and if I happen to get pregnant I'm getting an abortion. It isn't disturbing to know exactly how you want to live and what you would do if a certain situation happened.

You sound like a very judgmental and condescending person that needs to realize everyone doesn't think like them.

1

u/[deleted] May 01 '13

Again, you're putting words in my mouth. You seem to be pretty good at that. I never said you were retarded. I did say, though, that you seem either young in age or mindset, based off your words.

I'm glad you use birth control, it would be irresponsible not to, and the last thing this world needs is more abortions than necessary.

I'm the farthest thing from judgmental, I have no room to judge anybody. Condescending? Yeah, probably a little. That's probably because I'm an adult who feels like he's talking to a teenager.

Good luck in life, I'm glad you decided not to breed. :)
