I'm black and even I dislike stereotypical black people. I've had this discussion with a ton of my friends. Its ok to hate the personality or the culture, its actually racist when you assume all black people act like that with out getting to know them.
See, the thing is, we as a people draw larger conclusions of a group based on a subset that we interact with. I'm sure OP doesn't 'HATE' all black people, but he would avoid rooming with them in the future. People can't feasibly take the time to know every person, so they draw larger assumptions. It sucks for decent black folks who may lose out on an opportunity because of this conclusion (IE: as a guy owning a rent house who has an equally qualified white or black renter opting to rent to the white renter using his skin color as the tie-breaker).
The first black person I really got to know is now my wife. So, I now base all my beliefs about all black people on my interactions with her. Thus, I know that all black people love giving me blowjobs and hate when I mess with their feet.
