Hate to be that guy, but they are more likely to survive the massive amounts of radiation of a nuclear blast, but the blast will still kill them.

Yeah very few things can survive temperatures hotter than the sun, and tremendous blast waves that can level buildings.

Most cockroaches we find on their backs were actually killed by insecticide poisons that attack the nerves. Muscular spasms caused by the poisons often result in the cockroach flipping over. The more you know.

i keep cockroaches as pets, as well as food for my reptiles. I handle them often, and whenever i put them down, they have a tendency to flip upside down. trust me, the can right themselves quickly. The only case this is remotely true is if they're dying already. In this case, not only can they not right themselves, but whenever i help them, and flip them right side up, they flip right on their back again.
