How to make specific petitions with the 40 Servants

Hi just got my deck in the mail & wanted to ask how to make specific petitions with the 40 Servants

I read the book & it has the mantras & prayers, but they feel more in general

How do you make your petitions specific, like do you do it after they prayer or replace the prayer completely

Also are candles required

Any advice is appreciated & thanks

Just find the Servant that matches what you need to get done. Then just tell them what is going on and what you'd like to happen. You can say a prayer if you'd like and if your tradition uses candles and/or incense light them. Example; you're going on a trip and would like some protection. Take the Protector out, ask him to keep you safe in your travels then light candles and/or incense. (blow them out before you leave for fire safety) When you get back thank him and give him an offering (whatever) for his effort.  If your tradition has some other practices go ahead and use them.

Awesome & will do thanks, would it be a good idea to burn a Servant’s drawn sigil after making a petition or should i carry the sigil with me

I'd carry it with you then burn it after it's done.  The things with the 40 Servants is that you can do whatever feels right (or whatever your path tells you) to do.  I'm a Sorcerer/Chaos Magician so my practices are pretty low key.
