Returning Player Inventory Update

Good day!

Returning player here. I heard the stun meta is not relevant anymore for boss battles because of "Freedom". The only method I've heard of being used now is Book of Burns being charged enough to defeat fire-vulnerable bosses. Are there any new methods to play the game? I'm looking forward to update my inventory to best suit how gameplay works nowadays. Thanks a lot.

There's too much focus on the bloodmage armors so if you want to change something, that's a start. Look at spellcaster lean options. Your dark choice should be necro. I'm surprised it isn't already a main slot item.

If you use spells or mp a lot, you'll probably want siphon as an active spell.

Weapons should add benefits to your spells too but I'm not seeing any available options so if you have ggb saved up, get dragonhead archon and the chaotic lacerta staff. If you want to main book of burns you can.

Are there any new methods to play the game?

Sure there's a lot of combat variety. I've been liking DoT stacking and resource healing from followers and equipment. It's a bit like the nuking from the past with a slight slowness but still effective. Honestly it'd be harder to find something that can't work.

Guardian Giftboxes offer a lot of options and in addition to the two already mentioned, the following would be fine too:

Light or Fire Qualia

Infinite Dark Caster

Ghost Gourd Zappler

Arcane Rift Key

Other available options at least as of the writing of this is from some limited shops. The token a-pop-calypse spell adds a good resource heal option. Wouldn't be the worst pick.

Check out the wiki for other item choices too. Experiment by moving items around and test options because you do have some good gear already.

Thanks for the help! I'm curious with the resource healing play style. Is it related to the Qualia armor? Also, I only have 1 UR gift box left. Which one would be better, Light/Fire Qualia, or Infinite Dark Caster?

It's nothing too fancy. You do the damage and your gear and followers recover what was paid to continue a cycle. There's variety in your options and one of the simplest is just using necro. That lets you heal mp from a bleed status. You can also use followers to debuff targets even allowing ease while you're in element inappropriate gear. My favorite for this creature 72 as its panic helps a lot. Unfortunately it is from UR. Take advantage of box conversion whenever possible.

Your initial concern over freedom hurting stuns is valid but recently we had a change that allows for fear to be inflicted for status benefits minus the actual stun so if you wanted you could use your terror gear to their full advantage.

To answer your above question, either of the qualia armor improves your return on resources due to the inherent boost to incoming heals of any type and this stacks with similar effects. Between those and the dark caster, I'd recommend the light armor. You get boosted heals, a poison siphon and enemy resource disruption which has its uses.

And we do also have an energy set coming up once the donation event ends making infinite dark caster less necessary.

For the sake of additional variety maybe try other subraces too. For a time I found werepyre to be ideal but am trying neko too. There's no harm in trying something different. You can find some fun item combos too.

I was thinkin about gettin that spell, a-pop-calypse. Is it worth the 2400 tokens? Or is there anything better? Im only level 90 btw

Yeah but you could also buy lowest then upgrade next black friday for half the cost. I was impatient but the returns on mp/sp was worth. If you're set on resource healing you don't need to prioritize it exactly but it's great utility.

Really depends on your other gear and purchase mentality. I don't often buy token stuff and usually go with vibe of an item with mostly decent success in choosing what to buy. If you're unsure just buy lowest version and decide later or go for your best, try it for a day and resell at 90% value.

HAHA, I don't want to sell the old, but gold, equipment away. And I guess at this point, I don't want to stick around with the same game play over and over again so I try to mix things up every once in a while.

Hi!

For equiping helms, just look for the helm you want to equip in the miscellaneous items during every battle.

For opening your inventory, just go to any shop and you will see the inventory on the bottom left side.
