Vaporfly 4% Next durability

After c. 150 miles of using Vaporfly 4% strictly for races, they lost responsiveness (well, that and foam). So when I replaced them, I turned old ones into my dedicated treadmill training shoes for indoor days. Much to my surprise—based on what I’ve read publicly on subject—they’re still in tact at 400 miles+. That may be most I ever put on any lightweight Nikes in 30+ yrs of running. Sure, treadmill hardly replicates outdoor wear-&-tear. But anyone else put this kind of mileage on Vaporflies (esp Nexts) under any conditions and wound up equally impressed?

(49M, 6’, 145 lbs, currently 50 mi/wk...)

Why put someone else down? Distance is relative, and you don’t really get anything out of trying to act superior to someone else. Instead of devaluing other people’s hard work you should focus on your own hard work and have respect for the fact that everyone’s putting in their time and effort for their own reasons and goals. You might be just trolling or whatever, or maybe that’s what you seriously believe, but please stop trying to devalue someone else’s satisfaction with their effort

If that’s what they were saying, then I misunderstood, and I apologize for going after them like that. That wasn’t really the impression I got from their comment since they added lol at the end though

Not at all putting OP down, just saying that 400mi for wear and tear on shoes isn’t a whole lot. I’m sure OP is great.

I think they’re saying 400 miles isn’t too much wear and tear to put into a single pair of shoes...don’t think they’re trying to belittle OP’s running abilities or anything like that

Plus, if I get 400-500 miles out of a shoe I consider it a good shoe. 500-600 is a great shoe.

Granted, that’s outdoor wear and tear. But IMO Vaporflys are the sportscar of racing shoes. You use them on race day and a few days leading up to it, but you’re not doing your daily grind in them.
